Great pics:
Here are some old pics of hubby in his HS athlete days from when he was in the American HS in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The first is a newspaper clip of Mike as quarterback of his team about to make a pass. The other is his soccer team from 1977. Mike is the 3rd from the right on the back row.

Cool gift!
Good Saturday morning crew. I'm up on this rainy morning. I made myself an omlet this morning & it was really good. Having my coffee now wondering what to do on a mild rainy day. Today it is supposed to get up to 62 degrees then a sharp drop in temps to our lowest temps of the winter. I dread that. Have a good day everyone.

Rick, keep posting your old pictures...love them. Those from Florida brought back many happy family memories from the 1960s. Dad loved baseball so we would head off to baseball pre-season camp each year. I would get out of school for a few weeks (had homework to finish in the back seat of the auto) and could always bring my best friend of the moment with me. Started college in Miami back in 1969. Dad did not complain too much about the out-of-state tuition as it gave him a reason visit South Florida when he tired of watching baseball.
So far typical weather here in Ottawa for early Jan. except very little snow fall in Dec. so I can still see the ground. Today 10 F (feels like -4 F). Expecting 4-6 inches of snow this afternoon / tonight, turning to freezing rain, back up to just above freezing Monday. Jan., Feb., always worst for snow and artic temps. Monday my classes start and almost have all my class materials posted on-line for students. Good for me only have full days of classes Mondays & Thursdays with a 1/2 day Tuesday. First day of classes I announce my winter attendance schedule and it goes something like this: "Any day when we expect 6+ inches of snow, check your email the night before as most likely I will cancel class. I am from Texas and don't drive in that white s#*t!" This announcement started my first winter in Canada. I asked students how bad does it have to get for the campus to close. Was told when the buses stop running. The buses never stop running unless there is a drivers strike. They might slide of the road, just get towed back on and resume driving. So the campus never closes for winter. Last winter my +6-inches of snow did not work well for me. We had 6-inches of slush in about 4 hours. My typical 15-min. drive home took over an hour. I would have had better directional control of the Camaro if I put the Camaro in reverse and backed my way home. These all-season tires must have been tested during four seasons in Florida, not Canada. I drive so little even during good weather not worth the expense of winter tires / tire storage. So I either cancel a class or call a cab. |

Good morning. The rain has moved out & cold is moving in. I slept in a little this morning until Ruby started banging on her door demanding I get up. Just finished breakfast & having my coffee now.
Yesterday I did a little dance/aerobic exercise, weight training & floor exercises. I am not sore but that usually does not hit me until the second day. I had done a 10 minute HIIT routine at work which triggered the first exercise induced asthma attack I have had in years. I had no rescue inhaler as I have not needed one in years. So not only have I put on all this weight, I have let my lungs & airways suffer. Time to get serious again. So now I am going to get back on track with my food intake and exercise with the goal of being back in shape in time for the C5 Fest.

Spent all day yesterday working around here. I took most of the Christmas decorations down and washed 2 cars. I'll finish taking down decorations today, wash my truck, and do a little yard work. My Barrett Jackson driving duties start Wednesday. Looking forward to buying a new lens and flash for my camera. I want to try a wide-angle prime lens. Should be great for landscapes and street scenes, but I am wondering how it will do with shooting cars at cruises. Jan, hope you reach your goal. Keep plugging away. I've lost 55 lbs and hope to lose another 5+ working at the auction.

Great pics again! Hope you get a clear bill of health.
I did a whole lot of nothing today. Just surfed around on the internet finding healthy recipes, exercise videos, etc, did s few house chores & loved on the rabbit. Web had a little sleet today & temps are plummeting. Not looking good for the track day at NCM on the 10th. It looks like temps will be in the teens or lower, too cold for any decent traction. We were supposed to have a Camaro club officer's meeting on that day anyway so I guess I will be there. Well it is back to work in the morning. Sweet dreams crew.
