Thanks! This isnt my first V8 camaro(ive had 79,88,94,and 99 transam) This car will not go in the snow and ice. I live in WV and drive VERY well in the snow. So far the best auto seems to be the jeep. Keep the ideas coming. This is very helpful. Brake issues aside ,ive had 4 toyotas and All i ever did was change oil and put gas in them.

This past winter i found out that the Pontiac Sunfire we had went better than most any vehicle i have ever had in the snow.. They are cheap to buy and cheap to operate too...

kia sorento is good if you get the full time all wheel drive put some bridgestone dueler a/t revos. I cut my own trail down the road in 18" of snow and a layer of ice on top. If I had to buy anything other than a chevy I would buy an older jeep or toyota. you may want to look at the 90s full size 2 door blazer or gmc yukon.

I'd rather get a Grand Cherokee than a Wrangler if the goal is to stick to the roads in ice and snow. Full headliner = much better insulation. Wranglers are warm in the summer and cold in the winter.

It's another option and the heated seats and mirrors along with the ride of the camaro are quite nice in the winter.

Lookin' good!

Here's my current "snowmobile":

If you aren't comfortable driving on all-season tires through the snow, a set of Blizzaks will do wonders for you.
I drove a 3rd gen year round and that thing was HORRIBLE in the snow... I'm just saying this 5th gen is a totally different animal. If you have the proper tires it's really good in the snow. It's actually one of the best non 4 wheel drive cars I've ever driven in the snow. I can understand some of you saying, yeah but he only has a 6 cyl he doesn't have the power the V8's have. 312hp is nothing to sneeze at. That's more than my 3rd gen 8cyl had and there is a WORLD of difference. I've driven my 5th gen through some really bad storms to work last winter and it was fantastic!

I can understand wanting a winter beater, I just wanted the OP to know. Don't be afraid to drive it year round, just make sure to take off those summer tires when the temperature drops.
