Even if you're licensed, brandishing a handgun is a BAD idea... Instead of the bad guy, YOU may end up with a cop's size 10 boot on your neck shoving your face in the pavement.

Ladies... Windows up, doors locked.

True story... A lady puts her shopping bags in the trunk, closes it, gets in the car and starts it... A decent looking man comes up and smiles, (her window is up, door locked) He yells, "Ma'am, your trunk is open!" smiles, and walks away. She opens the door, walks to the trunk... He runs back, jumps in the car, and away he goes with your car/house keys/purse, and all the goody's you just bought.

NEVER roll down your window for a smiling pedestrian, better to be thought a b***c by an innocent stranger than be a target for a carjacker.... They look alike. Door glass is TUFF to break rolled up... easy to break rolled down even just a little.

P.S. What's better than mace?

I have not had the stalking thing but lots of people pull up next to me on a 4 lane and take video/pics. I too got my concealed weapons permit as soon as I knew I was getting this car, I carry a gun in my purse at all times( concealed weapon purse) and will not be afraid to use it, I refuse to be carjacked or worse assaulted by anyone. You just have to make sure your life is truly being threatened before you pull your weapon. Don't pull it unless you plan on using it and it better be good or else you will be going to jail.

Concealed carry license here as well, never leave home without one of the
pistols strapped to my ass somewhere.

Agree, stay in well lit areas if possible, call the police (be familiar with the cell numbers for 911 in your area, it isn't always '911') and/or drive to a populated area or better yet a police station. If anything, that emergency button on your rear-view mirror is there for a reason.

Your subconscious can pick up hinky stuff long before it registers in your 'mind'. If the guy gave you bad vibes it was probably for a good reason. Even on the
off chance the guy was innocently curious about the car, better to have a LEO
explain to him that he was acting in an inappropriate manner than you or someone else without authority or a way to defend yourself.

If your concern is carjacking, you ought to check out some of the special training available for firearms and other defense techniques. You'd be surprised how hard it actually can be to access your firearm and fire across your chest inside a confined space. And lefties can be pinned in by accident (the criminal leans into or grabs the left arm to control you and most people haven't trained to use their off hand). Typically half the people who haven't trained to use their off hand to fire a weapon simply won't grab their weapon with their off hand if their main is unusable in a panic situation (no joke).

If guns in your car make you nervous, consider a real high quality taser that uses cartridges.

For those of you who have OnStar couldn't you call them and tell them the situation? They could call a cruiser and have them check the suspect out.

You know I actually had a guy punch my drivers side window and shatter it while I was sitting in my car at a stop sign..:((he was a little pissed that I broke it off with him)..It REALLY pissed me off so I got outta my car to kick his ass and he ran back to his house..Cops got him tho
It was definitely something I never want to experience again..
