You know, not for nothin, but just because someone pulls up and revs and asks to race doesn't mean they're being jerks. I've had people in vans, pick-ups, and even 18 wheelers pull up on me. And usually they're just looking for some excitement. I mean come on, how often do you get to pull up next to a cool looking car? If you saw a Viper, you'd probably do the same thing...and he'd look at you like you look at the ricers. Maybe just give the kid a thumbs up or something. Just sayin, these cars attract people, that's why we buy them. So just be cool and enjoy it.

They feel the need to prove something to themselves. But watch out some of those crappy little cars have been really massaged in the engine compartment. No different than when I grew up really. I had a friend who's mom gave him her old 6 cylinder Chevy 2 station wagon. He proceeded to drop in a 65 Corvette fueling 327 with a cam, headers and a few other goodies and it put down many SS396 Camaros and Chevelles. It looked like a grocery getter but......

Inadequacy, they know their car is a pile of junk so they rev it up in order to make themselves think it is in some aspect better.
This happens to me all the time, I do 1 of 3 things.
1. Laugh and shake my head
2. Rev back
3. Do nothing and just leave em in the dust
Either way you go they will know their car is def below the SS

And it's not just the ricers. I've taken notice that the Jeep owners are a bunch of douchebags too. I've had about 6 Jeeps in different occasions pull up next to me and rev their engines.
Every time I pull up next to a nice little Corvette, Challenger, Bentley, Jesus Christ even a Mustang, they simply give me the thumbs up or a wave or a simple;Nice ride man.
Why do people in broke down trash cars feel the need to overcompensate by trying to entice our beautiful machines?
I guess I'm just venting or ranting. But do any of you feel the same? Or is it just me?

This is one of life's great mysteries.

Just be careful...here in Miami traffic detectives ride in chargers, 300C's AND v6 CAMAROS.. I know from experience...lol I had a guy next to me at a light ask me to run his charger with HID headlights and all...So of course the idiot I am, we took off and as soon as I hit second, he got behind me and light up alot of pretty blue and reds..... nice ticket was givin...

Yep, they are. They don't make a sound when you sit still and "rev" them.
