Don't be too hasty. On paper and the real world are two different animals. All wheel drive can provide a lot of grip but it also adds a lot of weight and can be hard to launch properly. Speaking of weight, the Veyron is a very heavy car. (over 4000lbs) Take a look at what a lighter, less powerful, rear wheel drive 15 year old McLaren F1 can do to a Veyron off the line.

Good post there, that's impressive that the F1 was beating the Veyron for a majority of the race!

It wouldn't be much of a race. The Veyron is a technological marvel. Claiming 287 mph and actually doin it are different things.

I like the Venom, but I do not like that its a Lotus body. Nothing wrong with Lotus, but it should stay a Lotus. They should design a whole new body specifically for this car... they are charging enough to do it lol.

do you know how much it costs to build a new car model with a new car company?

Veyron does 0-60 in 2.4 seconds, no way the McLaren F1 is ever touching that with it's 0-60 of 3.9. That's a huge difference. Please don't use Top Gear as a result for anything. It's entertainment, not factual data. The Veyron, standard car, runs low 10s@144mph in the 1/4, the SS does high 9s. In fact, the Veyron can let the McLaren F1 get to 60mph, then take off, and still beat it to 200mph by about 3 seconds. That's huge.

The most important part of the car in any race is the driver

It must be difficult to get all the power to ground when accelerating and the car is probably scary (and very dangerous) at speeds over 200 MPH.
The Veyron has multiple tests of hard acceleration and 250+ MPH with no issues at all.
