Got my first , very used '86 IROC Camaro when I was a teenager.

kudos for being from Nor*Cal lol. but i have a 1SS, and currently still in college as well (sorta). I can honestly say that if i didn't have my honda as my commuter car, i probably would have opted for the 2LT.

Definitely SS if you can afford it and won't drive like a fool in it. Nothing beats the sound of a V8 with nice exhaust.

Gas mileage isn't awful in it. My insurance however...

Wow thanks guys. I will definitely consider the options.
If I can keep my grades up, I'm sure my parents would be happy help me out and pay for my camaro.

Get a ZL1!

Get whatever you can afford, payments can be outrageous. Regardless of the model, you will still love it. We have a 2LS and eventually we will get a ZL1 but we are happy with our little V6.
