My first car was a VW Rabbit - diesel. Total POS, second was a tempo...both were written off, one due to hail, the other I was rear ended - the trunk was in my back seat. Learn to drive in something you won't mind taking some beats, taking care of it regularly and is reliable. I didn't get my first NEW car until I was 33 but never had car payments either.

My first car

My first car was a 1950 Chevy 2 door coupe..six cylinder of course..three in the tree...push button start after you turned on the ignition and puled out the hand choke. high low beam switch was on the floor , foot switch, no directional. every time you filled it with gas add one quart of oil http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/smilies/sm0.gif .

I loved it... cost me 25 dollars

I drove my dad's 1996 Nissan Altima for 3 weeks before a Yukon XL ran into me. After that, it was a 1997 Saturn SL-1. Now, I'm finally driving a 2000 Firebird Formula. It's been a while, but it isn't bad to wait for a nice car.

Oh, okay, an Avenger Coupe, thought you got the newer sedan. Well either way it's not a bad first vehicle. You're young, you'll have plenty of vehicles your way. Just stay out of trouble, don't speed or drive recklessly; otherwise owning a Camaro is going to be a lot more difficult with a higher insurance rate.
