When I was six or seven I dug a trap for my father. And then I made him mad on purpose so he'd chase me. Of course my 'trap' was all of two feet deep and all he did was trip and stumble a little. But still, I consciously engaged myself in this endeavor.

I was about 8 years old maybe and I dont remember what I had done to start it but my dad was yelling at me so I decided in all of my 8 years of wisdom to tell him to shut up. Once I realized how p***ed off he was I ran for the basement and straight into the bathroom and locked the door. My father put his fist through the door that day to get me out. I never told him to shut up ever again after that. O.o'

I kicked Jose in the face and busted his nose in 2nd grade. Other than that I have always been a saint.

Wow, let's see:
1. Broke over 200 windows in a trailer park at 7 years old
2. Made an improvised explosive out of sparklers, duct tape at 11 years old, blew off small chunk of friend's house and took out his mom's garden after they bombed us with bottle rockets, cops called.

I am sure there are many other "minor" infractions compared to these two, but they don't stand out in my head quite as prevalent

Lets just say that I had to be a VERY good boy for a couple of years so that my juvenile record would be expunged.
I'm not kidding.

I've got one really good one that wasn't illegal but it was oh so very naughty but I can't share it on a public forum. It has to do with what 8 year old boys and 8 year old girls can do when the little boy is VERY convincing and lies like a pro. I'll share the details with anyone who asks... but only in person. Its all about deniability. (and yes, its worse than I'll show you mine if you show me yours)

I was a naughty child.

I grew up to be a complete boy scout though. I think I just had issues that needed to be worked through.

Oh, dang... lots of good stuff. Broke into a house when I was six, just to go inside. Told mom somebody tried to kidnap us, made up a story about a man in a green car. Vandalized cars as a teen. Set fires in the dry grass, to see how big I could let them get and STILL be able to put them out... almost lost a couple of them.

Got older, and switched to car- based mayhem. Lots of fun to go into the parking of the grocery store, place a shopping cart in front of the car, and accelerate hard.... hit the brakes, watch a shopping cart go into the side of a parked car at 45 MPH, or just hit a curb and disintigrate. Ran from the cops many times... made every single time! Well, except for two little ol' times when I ALMOST made it... and "almost" means "jail." Once, got pulled over by California Highway Patrol, after a short pursuit (Tired to ditch him on a dirt road, waited 15 minutes, he got me the second I returned to pavement). He had been following the trail of beer cans me and my friends had tossed out the window for MILES on a remote highway. I was so drunk I fell once while talking to him, and when he requested my license, after I dropped my wallet once, I then handed him a photo of my girlfriend. I was hammered. Then, he learned that I was on probation for previous offenses.

He had a man to man talk with me. Told me that it was obvious that punishments were doing me no good, not getting me to change. So he said that he was going to send me on my way, on my honor. He said he was going to follow me for a few miles, to make sure I could keep the car between the lines, but his deal was simply a gentlemen's agreement that I would stop being a 5hithead. It was the biggest gift I have ever received, and I took it very seriously. It changed me... more than anything else had. I owed it to that CHP officer as a matter of honor. I changed my ways.

That was 20+ years ago. I am Mr. Squared Away Citizen now. Haven't even had a speeding ticket in 10 years, don't drink and drive, don't get crazy. I have kids to be an example to, and fellow man to respect.

Bravo! Sometimes it takes one person to just have a little faith in someone to make them change their path. For me, it was a teacher at my high school. He could have busted me hard for something, but instead he kept me after class and had a heart-to-heart talk with me. It gave me a lot to think about and really made me turn things around.
