Worst thing you've done as a child?

I'm looking for interesting & off the wall stories about when you were a kid. Did you unknowingly cause mischief because your parents weren't watching...or just because you were a little troublemaker?

I'll start with mine.

I was about 5 or 6 years old, and was in my moms 65 Mustang (6 cylinder). She had pulled into our driveway which was sloped downwards towards the garage at about a 5-7 degree incline. She had stopped by the house door, and the driveway continued straight to the garage for about 30 more feet.

She had gotten out to take groceries inside the house with my brother, and left me in the car. I decided to explore the car a little, and got up into the front seat. Boy that parking brake looked interesting when my mom pulled on it earlier. Twist-snaaaapp. The car starts rolling downhill towards the garage and hits the right side of it, doing some damage to both.

I must have not liked Fords then either...

Lmao nice. Ummm the worst thing I've ever done...I had a sip of Mike's Hard Lemonade when I was 13. That's the only underaged drinking I've done. Obviously, I was a hard core kid. No one could keep me under control.

LOL...

I was 5 years old and my parents had a 2 day old car in the backyard that was in need of a new engine (some guy at the "Opel" (Saturn for you US people I believe) factory put on some components wrong and the engine needed replacing within the first 60 miles). Hence the reason why it was on the backyard: waiting for the new engine to arrive, and the old one to go out (it still ran but not as it was supposed to).

I went to play in it, but Dad forgot to take the keys out. I fired up the car, and did what I saw my Dad do all the time while driving: lower the handbrake, push the left pedal, wriggle the stick thing "a bit", then push the right pedal (to the floor of course), and release the left one...

My first burnout...

It ended when the kitchen decided to jump in front of the car...

Before I start let me just say that for years I didn't believe my mother when she told me that I did this. Eventually when my sisters came around I visited my old kindergarden stomping ground, and what do you know. EVERY teacher there still remembers me. Apparently I'm the only kid who's ever boycotted nap time.

Anyway, when I was in kindergarten (yes kindergarden) I decided that I didn't want to enjoy the wonderful time of day known as nap time - I was naive, forgive me. I decided that I would much rather open a window and climb out onto the roof overhang. My classroom was on the second floor. At this point I thought it'd be fun to play on the roof - probably 10 ish feet off the ground. The teacher freaked out for obvious reasons and told me to climb back in the window. I responded, and quote, "that's dumb, I'm going to jump down."

And I did. I landed in the sandbox.........................

....ontop of a 2nd grader.............

........I was fine......................

I would not be allowed to attend C5 Fest, or even be a member of this forum if I told the sories of my past. As a father of 3 year old son, I pray everyday that he doesn't take after me as a child. I turned out just fine(ish), but damn am I lucky to be among the living.

My brother asked me to help him out by starting his 57 Chevy for him while he looked under the hood. He failed to explain clutches, gears, and lurching. It wasn't really my fault and it's a good thing him and his friend had quick reflexes so as not to become pinned between the bumper and garage wall.

I was a lil pyro growing up. I set everything on fire lol. One time I thought it be cool to mix up some gas, paint thinners, liquid nails glue and other things together in a paint bucket and light it up. I decide to go down to the woods by the stream for the lighting of the torch figuring by water would be safe. Well after ignition it got a lil outta control so I dumped it out in the stream. Well just have you know the liquid nails is water proof and floated down stream on fire catching everything around the stream on fire. Needless to say I freaked and somehow managed to putit all out thank god. O and liquid nails and live ammunition dont go good together either lol

I can't really recall doing anything that bad... I did something similar to the OP though... Don't remember how old I was, but there was this old car, I want to say it was a ford something or another parked next to the garage, with my uncles non running jeep next to it... My friends and I would always play in them and pretend we were racing each other... Well one day I decided to pull the column shifter out of park, and the car started to roll down hill toward my Dad's old race trailer he used to haul his dragster around... LUCKILY, there was a big piece of fire wood that had somehow ended up in front of one of the tires, and the car literally came to a stop about a foot before hitting the trailer... Whew!

When I was 10, in 1980, I was hiking with my parents and threw a cherry bomb into Mt. St. Helens.

I've felt horrible ever since.

from age 5 to age 14 i was being a little pyro in one way or another. at 5, i would light pieces of paper and cardboard, etc on fire IN THE HOUSE, using candles, and putting them out in the sink at the last second. i'm pretty lucky to have not burned down my house or garage as a kid.

in my preteen years, i would ride my bike into the desert with my friends and we would build little fires out of the dried up/dead plants scattered around. toward the end, gasoline-filled water bottles and aerosol spray cans were getting involved, the fires were getting bigger, and we hid from the police once...ok twice, in an unusual, 3ft ditch. it was the weirdest place, because it was only 3ft deep and 5ft wide and it could be 100F outside, but only about 70F in this little ditch, where the ground at the bottom was always slightly damp and it was just weird. it seemed so out of place, considering it was in a bone dry patch of desert. it was almost impossible to find, even if you were standing 5 feet away from it, thanks to the desert shrubs surrounding both sides, but not in a way that you could tell that a little ditch was in there. it was the PERFECT hiding spot. the police combed the desert for the little "arsons" they spotted, but never found us.

literally 6 days after i decided to call it quits, because my friends were getting a little out of control, using more gas and making bigger fires, they ended up burning a 5 acre section of desert. the police, news helicopters, and firefighters were involved. they luckily escaped when they realized the fire was getting out of hand and avoided trouble with the law.
