One of the worst things you can do to me is spit. I'd rather be knocked out. I would have hunted him down and got a better look at the guy and decided then if I wanted to beat him down or call the Po-po's. Its not worth fighting someone that could obviously beat my arse. In the end he'll get his and I hope he does.

At a minimum, I make it a habit in the event of that sort of thing to have a pad and pencil...get license plate number, mark time of day, etc... take it to pd station...you never know...it could be someone they are looking for anyways...parolee, warrants, whatever...

In Indiana if someone spits on you, you can theoretically have them charged for battery. In todays times with AIDs, you just never know. None the less, I think I probably would have followed from a distance, having plate number and all and called the police to have the moped stopped, questioned and see if anything could have been done from a LEO stand point. Mofo would have thought long and hard before he harked up another wad to spit out. I carry the fraternal twins, Glock and Beretta.

I also agree with the post right above yours, that said "people do stupid s**t because they expect people to let them get away with it". It is REALLY tough to let someone go after something like that, but I have to trust that the guy will be dealt with in God's time. Like I said though, I will be arming myself, if for no other reason than, now I know from personal experience how little regard people have for others, and I will not get caught helpless when someone decides to do something more serious, and my family's safety is at risk.
This...

Evil dude did this for two reasons.
1. He saw you had a nice car and wanted to make sure he spoiled it for you.
2. He wanted to provoke a confrontation with you. He was probably armed and/or would have let you follow him to where his homies are.
It would have ended bad if you chased him.
I occasionally get spit on just because I am a cop. Unfortunately I can't shoot 'em.

Spitting on someone is one of the most disrespectful things u can do, next to actually pissing on them. These type of threads are outta hand.
I also don't understand the reasoning behind letting shit like this slide.
For the rest of your life you are gonna look back at that situation and feel like shit about it.

That was a real D-bag thing that other guy did. However, you gotta be really careful if you are carrying. These are the kinds of situations that can really get you in trouble. There's nothing wrong with being armed, but it takes a cool head...definitely don't want to get in a shootout over something like this

Unfortunately, the way things should be and the way they are, do not match up...It's not the wild-west anymore, where you become the hero and made the sheriff for taking out bad guys...yes, the guy spat into the car...sounds like that was it...you use your car to "chase him down", confront him with a fire-arm, physically harm him after the event, with no other immediate harm to yourself or property, then you become the bad guy...

Too many stories of homeowner's shooting a burglar on his way out and away from the house, or robbed at an atm, then going after the guy on his way down the street...where the original victim becomes the perp and is prosecuted...just food for thought before you take matters into your own hands these days..

This is why people get taken advantage of. Cuz no one is willing to stand up for their self.
Every issue doesn't have to end with someone getting shot, and most of them don't.
And if your reasoning behind never standing up for your self is "what if" then you will always be a victim.
