Yeah, great animations indeed

Now all we need to is explain the phrase "suck, squeeze, bang, blow" LOL

Sure, while we're at it (and since I'm bored right now) ...

  1. Suck - The intake stroke. It draws the fuel and air into the cylinder. Notice that the blue (intake) valve is open. This proves that it is the intake stroke, and not the compression stroke
  2. Squeeze - The compression stroke. The fuel and air charge is compressed to 1/9 to 1/12 of its original volume, which makes it more powerful when ignited. All valves are closed.
  3. Bang - The combustion stroke. The spark plug ignites the compressed fuel and air mixture. As the fuel burns, the gasses force the piston down which turns the crank which, eventually, turns the wheels. All valves remain closed.
  4. Blow - The exhaust stroke. The exhaust valve opens and the gasses from the combustion are forced out of the cylinder. When the piston reaches the top of the exhaust stroke, the cycle is repeated.

Mary Lane - I'm interested in your profile pic:

1) Is that really you?
2) who is that cartoon girl?

The likeness is amazing!

And here's what one side of the V8 looks like in an animation (Coincidentally, it's very similar to what an Inline 4 cylinder engine looks like from the side:

Wow! Thanks for this! .. I really appreciate it... It helps me a lot...
