No experience with cancer or anything remotely scary, but I'm 40 and get told regularly that I look 30, largely due to the fact that I have very few wrinkles because I was never a sun worshipper. Follow Bonnie's lead and just get a bronzer if you need some color once in a while.

Yeah you look great- I'm almost 40 and I have A TON more wrinkles than I should due to tanning both in beds and outdoors.......definitely NOT worth it.....now I pay $$$$$$$$$$ for potions and lotions to correct it!

Sorry Donna you are going through all that :(

I frequently visited tanning beds in my "younger years" and when I got older (and hopefully smarter), I would visit the tanning bed the first part of spring to get my base tan. Base tan? I'm as white as a ghost - it's always burn, peel, turn white. Repeat for me.

Then I read about the increased risk of cancer two years ago and haven't been since. I'm outside a lot, I ride my motorcycle a lot and try to apply sunscreen frequently. I also have a swimming pool in the yard but try to lather up and watch my exposure - no more burns for me.

Ya, I'm another one of the "seasoned" members of this forum at 51 years young, but my years in the sun are catching up to me as well. Doctors are concerned about a couple of moles on my back..

I tried several brands of bronzers but with my pale skin even the light ones make me look orange. So I just don't worry about it anymore.

Please be watchful of your exposure to the sun. While a deep, dark tan might look awesome, it's not at all good for you!

Hold on let me check. . .

Nope, still have a penis and I'm not from New Jersey. If you're that uncomfortable with your skin, get outside more. Maybe do some of your workout outside, like cardio. Do you really want to pay to get skin cancer?

I went to tanning beds over 23 yrs ago and just stopped. It was after that I found out it was bad to do. I have had no problems, yet. Again some people are prone to getting certain cancers. I am sure many people smoke on this forum, I never have. I am sure everyone knows a person that smoked all their life and never got lung cancer. Cancer is just one of those things you never know when or how it will strike. My dad died from bladder cancer over two years ago. It was the only time he had cancer he was only 94 when he died. When he started having problems he said he wished he could be 85 again, I was perfect at 85.
