Nissan had to do it with AWD, Twin turbo dual overhead cam V6 with so many nanny's involved that the car drives itself or your warranty is voided. Yeah. GM Better sweat the details on this one. Oh, and have you seen the transmission in the Nissan?

They pull the pin when you take delivery.
Hmmmm, how can you berate ZR1 performance for Z06 money? Also mentioned was a revised transmission program (at least).

I'm sure that the higher end gtr (v spec, etc...)costs much more than a Z06

Thats your argument? seriously?

The GTR is 30,000 dollars less than then ZR1 and just matched its times. How Nissan did it is irrelevant, the fact that they did is the point.

GM shouldnt be satisfied with "is even" with the GTR, it should want to destroy it. The best way for GM to stay ahead is to not fall behind, and right now..they're on the edge of falling behind.

I don't think GM is scared of the GTR, nobody buys them and they don't win relevant races

Yes, but unless I missed it (and I may have) that Ring time does not specify that the Spec V was the car being driven. Until they say otherwise I have to assume that this is simply the revised, 2012 GT-R and not the GT-R Spec V.

I know, I rounded off both numbers because it's quicker than looking up exact msrp. Were still talking about a nearly 27k difference, that's significant as, like I said, nearly enough to get you into a 1SS Camaro.

It could be the Spec V for all I know, maybe we'll get some clarification soon. To be blunt I don't put a lot of faith in Ring times anymore anyway, waaayyyy too much 'cheating' for my liking (what do we expect with no real governing body, heck manufacturers cheat in NASCAR and it has a governing body) And Nissan has a history of telling tall tales at the Ring anyway, though they are far from the only company to do so and, to be blunt, the only automaker who regularly touts Ring times that I tend to trust is Porsche.

If I were a Corvette guy I wouldn't let this get me torqued out of shape.
