Just to clarify, that 800 number is the estimated power of the engine before the ~80hp parasitic losses from the supercharger, and possibly other accessories.

Hey - isn't this close to what the ZL1 runs?

...so, without the supercharger, the car would then run NINES?!

Smokin' HOT!

Think about what you just shared. How would the engine get to "800" without that all-important twin-screw (no, that's NOT the DODGE Sales Manager AND Dealer bending you over, that's the actual design of the thing) supercharger being attached?

That's like saying you're MUCH more handsome when you subtract your father's contribution from your DNA.

Nice come back

At least these threads have been more civil than when the 2013 GT500 was announced.

I think the first ten got closed ten minutes after they were posted.

I'm not sure where this venom is coming from, this is what the dodge engineer said. If it pleases you, you could imagine some outside source driving the SCer to get that number. Ultimately, it means nothing though - just trying to clear up where that number came from.

Or maybe you could consider this to be closer to the power being generated inside the cylinders. Same is true for the ZL1, GT500 et al.

Well, you KNOW the average IQ of the average Mustang owner is generally = to their age, right? And their language skills are stunted from years 'n years of cussin' under cars, fixin' Ford foul-ups. And they call Camaro owners "mullet-heads" 'cuz they're jealous of being bald.

NOT to be confused with the highly evolved and worldly Mopar Mutha, who, for instance, would NEVER think unbelting the Lysholm blower would INCREASE power. No siree, Bob, those Mopar Mavens are too sharp for that sh!t!

No venom. I'm NOT into Vipers. But, Denizen, THINK about what you/he said. You sure you weren't talking with Alfred E. Neuman, Mech. Eng.?!

MotorTrend
ZL1: 0-60, 3.8sec; 1/4mile 12.1 @ 117.4mph, 4051lbs
Boss LS: 0-60, 4.0sec; 1/4mile 12.4 @ 113.9mph, 3638lbs

Oh, I see, you were cherry-picking data to try to support such foolishness. Nice try.

Almost like a 707hp car only trapping 122mph...
http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...the-strip.html
It trapped 125mph on street tires.

First day here. 81 pages on this thread. Read those, yet?

Then we'll get into your burning questions.
