It'd take the Camaro's low end torque over the 5.0's high end power any day. Driving on the street, the 5.0 probably won't feel nearly as powerful as the dyno says it is. For normal daily driving (99% of the time) I'm just not running in that 6000-7000 RPM range, so I'd never actually "see" that power at the end of the line on the graph except on rare occasions. You can beef up a car on paper all day long, but ultimately how it feels as you drive it is more important.

And your right, trap wont give you a win...the projected 1/4 for both cars was ridiculous...so thats why I chose to use trap speed...it is less dependent upon traction...which was a problem from reading the article.

you don't know what conditions were really like though. What if that 103.75 trapping L99 is usually 107's somewhere else? then that would mean the mustang SHOULD have been trapping 112-113, which based on power to weight ratio, it should.

i am just saying that with the history of the l99 iwouldnt be surprised if the one in the test is a dog. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if the mustang traps 112 anyway...its not down on power with the auto tranny like the camaro is.

and what would the benefit of that be? and that wouldnt follow past embargos. every magazine/outlet wants the most of the attention so no point in holding out if you are allowed to release the info

Just what I would expect as the HP numbers are very close. With the Mutang being 300# lighter. Nubers stink, but its on an unprepped surface. If you dont want to read the Mustang is faster in the 1/8 both in ET and MPH.

Just took a look back threw my time slips and on a horrific 2.20 60' eighth mile pass. I went 8.491 at 88.58 mph. My best so far was an 8.195 at 88.58 mph. The same exact mph with a 1.97 60'. Yes i know different tracks and weather conditions but someone must not of known how to drive that Camaro!
