The Enemy ;)

Heck even I'm scared of what this new GT might bring. I might swap my GT500 for one if I can put the power down better. I don't need the high horsepower the GT500 can produce with a blower swap.

Its funny. Just like I have been saying.
Before when the camaro beat the mustang by over a half second...no credit is given. Most mags and people say its a close race etc etc Now we have cars with .2-.3 tenths of each other and the mustang is "king of the hill" |

An ls3 camaro makes more power than an L99 camaro. 26 more hp to be exact. The mustang auto has the same motor as mustang manual. And the 395 to the wheels is obviously bogus for many reasons I wont go into for the tenth time. And from the looks of these results the motor is obviously right around 412hp. The weight and power difference form an L99 will put it right at .3 tenths faster. Theoretically the ls3 would have been neck in neck in that comparison with another 26 hp. So far I am not surprised by anything. |

14 more hp makes up for 260 lbs to make it neck and neck?
until we see a full slip, for all we know the mustang was spinning since we all know the tires suck on it. i mean it was 3mph ahead in the 1/8th and ive been following a lot of the drag racing section in here, hasnt the auto camaro, been on average, the better performer? |

It is all speculation til they hit production and we see some real world numbers. Its pretty much going to be a drivers race, as it is now anyway. |

No...the 26 extra horsepower the ls3 makes over the L99 would make up 2-3 tenths. What did you think I was talking about? The auto mustang has the same motor as the manual transmission car and may very well be faster than the m6 counterpart. This test was not top drivetrain vs top drivetrain...another skewed test...that seems to be par for the course so far. Until I see m6 vs m6 I could care less about this test. I guess to look at it how you said 14hp would make up .14 tenths. Giving the mustang about a .1 tenth advantage. DRIVERS RACE. Yeah I would call it neck and neck. This just keeps re-affirming what I have been saying all along. .6 tenths 2010 mustang vs camaro= drivers race. 2011 mustang beats camaro by a couple tenths= king of the hill. The L99 has also ran like crap on several occasions. Also, The fastest L99 time is .3 tenths slower than the LS3. Again...making up the difference. When isnt the auto on average a better performer? a lot less user error with any vehicle auto vs manual. But it isnt exactly fair in this case when a manual transmission camaro comes with an extra 26 hp over the auto.... |

If the GT only turns out to be within a tenth or two of the 2010 SS I will be slightly saddened and interested for whatever happens with the 2011 SS.
The 2011 Camaro changes are being announced this week, yes? |

I am very impressed with this mustang...but like I said not very surprised by the numbers. Its simple power to weight in most cases. |

It just has to be upsetting for the Mustang guys who went off about how we'll see in 2011! A tenth or two is not huge, hence why no one called it a huge defeat for the Challenger SRT8 lost by that much.

based off statistics, the L99 in that run would have gone ~103.75 vs. ~109 for the 5.0. That is a substantial trap speed difference.
