Almost 9 months to the date since my surgery. Just turned 50 a few days ago. Now down 120 lbs. Before (2013 summer at my parents). After (this past weekend at my parents).

What's up guys and gals? I was curious about the time that I do my workouts. I don't remember what was always said about not working out however long before bed or whatever. So the thing is, I always get the "urge" to do some type of exercising around 11 or 12 at night. I usually don't go to sleep until around 3 or 4 in the morning and get up between 9 and 12 depending on what is going on. Any thoughts besides the ones on the hours that I am currently keeping? Lol!

Well hubby's been on his new routine now for 4 weeks, and is really trying to stay strict. Gotta give him a hand, offered him a piece of chocolate mid wk and he said NO Thanks, Saturdays the only day he'll have any junk like dessert.

Looked at his log book and his weight is staying right around 190, but his body fat has dropped a good 3 to 4 percent. I can see the difference, he's starting to look much more defined. His goal is 18% body fat, he's not far from it now.

The crazy part is how much food he has to eat. It's insane, to maintain the 190 and still lower the body fat he's consuming around 3,600 to 4,000 calories a day. He went from one protein drink to 3 protein drinks plus meals.

Yesterday my dear friend came over to visit and the first thing she said to my husband was "wow, you're look'n really muscular". So his new routine is working. I just don't want him to get too lean, the leaner the more sex drive, and the more whacks on the head w/my frying pan! Seems like all I ever say is "down boy, get your hormones under control. What's wrong with you".

Forgot to say his muscle mass is also up, around 5 to 6 pounds higher! This high intensity new routine is a 12 week program, so he's a third of the way and so far so good.

This is something that took me a while to understand. I eat more now at 165 lbs vs when i was overweight at 206 because of my body composition. The learning process of knowing your body takes time but once you get it the payoff is fantastic. The tool that really helped me was myfitnesspal for tracking my food. Its super easy to use i highly recommend it.

Like to see if anyone has tried either of these two products/shirts. Appreciate any feedback, good or bad.

Thinking of getting my hubby one of those Posture Shirts by Intelliskin Men's Foundation 2.0 Athletic Shirts, $85 on amazon, suppose to be really good for your back. And really help you with good posture, poor posture is a cause of back pain, either sitting at a desk for hours or standing on a hard floor for hours on end it should help your form.

And for lifting I'm thinking about getting him the Bench Shirt, called The Rage, made by Inzer, cost $95 + shipping.

Doesn't need either one really, but I know he loves working out so they should make good gifts for him. Pretty sure he'll enjoy using/wearing both.

The first one no.

The rage....well first I would ask you what kind of bencher is he? Not only "how much does he bench" but also what is his form like? Flat back or arch, does he keep his elbows tucked or does he flare, does he push the bar up in a straight line or does he drift back over his face?

Hmm, any particular reason no on the first. From all the reviews it's rated really well, and some of the shirts can actually be prescribed by a doctor to help off set the cost. He's an Old Fart so his posture does need some help/work.

The Rage Shirt, well he's flat on the bench, no arch, and he lofts solely for exercise and he enjoys lifting. Never will he compete or anything like that, works out by himself cause he likes it quiet.

His elbows are straight out to the sides, not tucked in at all, and pretty straight up. He has metal stands set at chest height so he can't get crushed, for safety since he's by himself. I think he works out with 260 or so. More when he uses his Slingshot contraption.

Does the Rage Shirt do something similar to the slingshot? I read the description and it didn't give too much detail on exactly what/how it does.

If you need more info let me know incase I missed something. Like I said though, it's just something he enjoys, a good workout calms him.

One more comment on the Posture Shirts, they're intended for all day wear, not a workout

Oops, hit the wrong key, anyway, they're not intended as just a workout shirt. You wear it all day, at the job or whatever. It's purpose is to help keep your shoulders back, chest out and keep you in proper alignment.

After just a day or two you should feel a little discomfort because it's making you use muscles you may not have used in decades. Look at how most people walk or stand, shoulders forward and head down a little bit, sorta slumped. That's what the shirts help correct.
