Yeah, when the Z comes out you are in real trouble buddy. Rumor has it it's gonna have a ecotec turbocharged super duper motor. It's gonna roast your ass! Stick a fork in the GT500.

Yes we do know. SAE certification process. Both engineers from ford and from SAE witness the dyno of the motor and have to agree on the exact certified output. I also seen a show on tv when they were dynoing a 5.3 chevy and they talked about this.

Under rating is a thing of the past since 2005.

We may.

But one look at the HP/LITER that the motor is all ready putting out does not leave a whole lot of room for improvement while still being N/A pump gas (95% of what will be on the road). At 500hp you will be at 100 hp/Liter...the motor is making 412 all ready.

620hp pump gas N/A for the LS3 (6.2 @ 100hp/l) is pretty much the max for the motor considering the highest numbers N/A for H/C cars is around 530 rwhp pump gas.

Unless this motor is a modern marvel you wont get much more than 500hp out of it without adding a supercharger or nitrous. And in the past the OHC motors have never responded as well to cam changes as the LS series.

But then again....you never know I suppose.
