Test drove one on Monday. It was a 1LT and was great, but the seats weren't very comfortable. Smooth and quiet though. Great.

I went to a few dealers in the city on the weekend, and one had sold out already, the other had three that were constantly being test driven, looked at... people just kept pulling in to see them! It was crazy! And it's an awesome looking unit too!

why dont they have an equinox hybrid? if it gets 32mpg with gas why cant it get 45ish on hybrid?

my wife and i have planned on buying a used 2010 Forrester is 2012 or 2013 but as of right now id say that the 2010 Equinox deserves a serious look

If you drive one, you will fall in love with it!
Makes a great winter vehicle, while the Camaro is stored!

Not 45 hwy. More like 35-40 city. That's the nature of hybrids...the electric side only works at low speeds.

Anyways, it might yet go hybrid. The Vue was supposed to get a plug-in version in 2010(?)...So expect to see something done to the Equinox.

Funny you mention that, though...gets better hwy mpg than an Escape Hybrid. And I know real-world will show a difference, but that's the number most advertised today...I chuckled a little.

wouldnt the reason for the escape vs equinox be that the equinox is a crossover and escape is still built on an old small SUV platform.

i would venture to say equinox is likely lighter in weight and lower to the ground than an escape.

on a sidenote i fully expect Ford to discontinue the Escape and replace it with an Equinox like crossover.

if a hybrid equinox got 40mpg city and 32 highway id totally buy a used one.

not to mention and correct me if im wrong but the Equinox's 100k mile warranty transfers to the 2nd ownder. The Forrester does not offer that........

The warranty is indeed transferable, but if an Equinox Hybrid is produced, you may have a hard time finding a used one for some time.
