My buddy had a WS-6 he bought new and then he put aftermarket parts on it. He did take the aftermarket parts off and sold them separately before selling the car. He said he did alot better than he would have done by just selling it with those parts on it.

Entered my Challenger in a local car show on Sunday. It won 1st place in it's class. This was a strictly Mopar car show and heavily old school biased, some very cool rides out there. I'm anxious to enter it in more shows with a larger variety of manufacturers to see how she fares.

I went to a Dodge Dealership and looked at a Black R/T today. Price was $38,000 sticker... I was impressed by the exterior but not so much on the interior/price. I was going to test drive an SRT8, but they didn't have one and I didn't want to test drive an R/T cause there was no point lol.

I went with a buddy recently who was considering a Orange SRT, and we talked to the dealer for a while about the cars. He knew his shit for sure, and told us that we'd be crazy to buy one now. Apparently inventory is so bad right now that the prices are being driven up... a result of Dodge shutting down the factories for 3-4 months. He said come back after the holidays when they start getting cars in again and they will be able to deal on the prices and selection.

Yes, Challenger are scarce for sure. The 2010s are starting to hit dealers. Plum Crazy Purple is a color choice for 2010 as well as Detonator Yellow.

However, one problem we've run in to on the Challengers. There's little to no aftermarket support. It's very frustrating for someone like me who likes to have a project to tinker on.

There are bolt ons like exhaust and intake that'll give you around 15RWHP.

If you go a little further you can get a hand held tuner and a 180* T-stat and get another 20RWHP or so.

You can do short tube headers (JBA is the only company making them right now) and pick up another 10RWHP.

If you don't care about emissions, you can do LT headers and gain another 7HP over the shorties (not worth it for the hassle or cost to me).

However, that's about it.

On the 6 speed cars, a tune doesn't help much as they're so aggressively setup from Dodge.

I decided to skip all the bolt ons and go with a supercharger to get 500RWHP (my goal). However, it seems there is some problem tuning the 5.7L motor. The 6.1L does OK, but the 5.7L has some strange algorithms that make it hard to make a canned tune apparently. To my knowledge NO supercharger manufacturer has a kit ready for the 5.7L 6 speed cars, even though their websites say they do. I e-mailed Kenne Bell to ask about theirs and they told me they didn't know when it'd be ready as they're now focusing on the Camaro.

So, having a rare car is cool and all...but it sure is a PITA if you want mods to go with it. The aftermarket is focusing on the Mustangs and Camaros and leaving us Challenger folk out in the cold.

I'm gonna give it another year or so to see where it's at...if there's not an improvement I'll be looking for a new car.

I'm the type that needs something to tweak on.

So I guess the supercharger won out over the warranty huh Speedy?

I decided to just go and twin turbo my 350Z, figured I would get more bang for the buck on that and keep the warranty on the Challenger.

I just bought the lifetime bumper to bumper plan for the Challenger so Chrysler better survive.

By no way am I dissing that car.

I'm surprised there is an issue considering all of the Chargers/Magnums/300cs out there. I realize they're slightly different configurations, but there's a ton of hemi's on the road so someone should have it down by now.

Yeah, I got to thinking about it, and honestly the lifetime warranty is nice...but I'm not sure how long I'll even keep the car. I love it and all, but reality is if a Z28 or something cool like that comes out I may jump ship.

We'll see, I may just be smokin' something too.

I'm not the least bit surprised that you can't grasp this concept and why what Speedy said just flew right over your head. He isn't going to supercharge it because there's no guarantee it will not blow up. From what I've read on some of the Challenger forums, you're going to need that bumper to bumper warranty.

Relax bro. Hemi Dave and I are good buddies. He's just ragging me a little bit because at one time I was hell bent on keeping that life time warranty in tact so that 10 years down the road if I had a problem I can just go to the dealer for a fix.

Now I'd rather have the power. If the tunes get straightened out a Kenne Bell may be in my future. Either that or a 426 drop in motor that's now available for about $5500.

I think somebody is just sour because this very attitude has gotten them banned from some forums..........
