Well, the 6th gen is more of a Sports car now than previous Camaros. The Mustang stays true to its roots by still being a Pony car. Mustangs were never considered Muscle cars. However, Camaros always handled well for their particular time period, especially top trim models like Z28 and SS.

One thing Ford has over GM is that they continously produced the Mustang. GM got lazy due to the SUV craze and simply discontinued the Camaro for several years. I'll never forgive GM for that.

Then, to make matters worse, they drop Pontiac (and keep Buick) which would have interesting for Firebird fans.

I have a 25th Anniversary Trans Am as well, so hoping they do bring back Pontiac, even if its on the back of the Camaro platform.

Had to check to make sure I was not on 'The AMC Forum' for a minute! I still own the 390 4-speed. Big Bad Blue AMX that I bought in high school plus a few other of AMC's finest! Luv my 14 2SS RS as well as my AMC's. They both have their own great qualities!

Camaro and Mustang have always been pony cars, never sports cars. They have also been called muscle cars. For the most part, sports cars usually only have two seats.

Yes, it makes them the cheap-mobile. Insurance on a two-seater is about triple what it is for a vehicle with a back seat.

The camaro wins this race only if he can drive and the mustang driver cant. Equal drivers stock vs stock.....you lose.

This ↑↑↑

If anything, it's that the traditional muscle car class is down to two (Chevy SS, Charger) and that the affordable segment of the traditional sports car category is not much better off. So the Mustang and Camaro have gradually been filling voids. Nimble enough to not be mistaken for sedans, capable enough on a road course to challenge nameplates with more established corner-carving credentials, and powerful enough to duke it out with traditional muscle rather than just being torque-less cornering specialists.

If there's anything that makes the Camaro a better car, it's that over the years (with only a few exceptions) it's generally had better handling at least available.

When I got my 2011 SS I test drove a 2013 Mustang 5.0. I was not partial to either and liked both however it was quickly apparent to me how much better the Camaro felt in the handling department. The mustang felt cheap to me in comparison not to mention the extra benefits the Camaro had (HUD, single handle release for the top). I like Mustangs still but I fell like I made the right choice for me even though the Mustang would have been two years newer and had less miles on it. I would like a new Mustang as well if I could afford it.
