I guess they painted themselves in a corner with those truck bed comparison commercials.

Especially a WT doing actual work at a site. It's not like they baby those things. And many without bed liners.

I honestly don't know why they don't put a bedliner in every truck made,

It's a good move on GM's part, from both a durability and PR standpoint.

I'd expect almost everything forward of the box to be aluminum though.

Hell I'm just glad we can get a factory spray-in bedliner now.

So they can offer it as an accessory and charge you even more money.

It was cheaper to have my 17 2500HD factory lined than it costs around here to have it done. I like the added touch of the bowtie in the front of the bed from the factory liner. Not to mention you can order trucks with a gooseneck from the factory.

I guess, but its like a 400 option just put it on every truck lol. It's pointless to me to have a "nice" looking bed. I don't care if it's aluminum or steel, you go throwing stuff in there its going to scratch it up. Bedliner problem solved.

Some people simply don't care, especially those who are buying trucks specifically as beater work trucks. The state didn't bother putting a bedliner into my F-150, the bed is banged up and rusted to hell and back but nobody cares.

Yeah, I don't want one either. Apparently, an unsecured load did this to an F150's bed.

My choice to have it done was two fold. One to give the bed a bit more grip so stuff doesn't slide around as easily, and two it prevents early rust out of the bed. I plan on this being the last truck I own for a very long time, and $400 was cheap insurance that I can continue to use the bed.
