300 lbs is 3/10 of a second in the 1/4... I've seen a test put the SRT8 at 13.3 and the Camaro at 13.0, so of course that amount of weight is going to make a difference.
In reality, it IS a drivers race with a nod to the Camaro. The SRT Challenger is no slouch.

Ford gives their top of the line model 540 supercharged horses. I don't think anything compares to that, not even a Z06 vette.

How many miles have you put on your Camaro 1/4 at a time?

How many miles have you just cruised around?

See my point?

3/10ths of a second is about a blink of an eye. I could care less if it's that close. I'm no arm chair drag racer.

I wanna look good and be comfortable cruising around and have enough grunt to set me back in the seat.

I wouldn't consider any of these cars slow, Mustang GT, Camaro SS, or Challenger R/T / SRT. Anything with 400HP + is gonna be fun. The current Mustang GT is only 315, but seems to get it to the ground quickly.

I love my Camaro, but I also own a 67 Mustang,07 Solstice so I would have gone this way if it were between this and a Camaro. But the HP would hopefully have been up their too.

No, that's only in the SRT. The R/T has an "easter egg" mode that has a 0-60 timer and some other goodies. You have to hold two buttons down on the steering wheel to get in that mode. It's like a track mode I guess.

I know this lol. But I was just addressing that put the same skilled drivers in both cars and the weight will become an issue for the SRT8.

The Ford has the horsepower advantage against a Z06, but what makes the Z06 a faster car is it's WEIGHT advantage. However, I don't race my Camaro very often or nor do I tend too and I see your point but don't see how's it's relevant to the situation I'm talking about. Of course none of those cars are slow but some are faster than the others.

Yes by 3/10ths of a second over 1/4 mile

To the driver, I doubt there is any difference in the experience.

Well, I wanted to test drive a challenger but couldn't find a dodge dealership in Nashville that wasn't out of the way. I honestly wanted to see if the weight made a difference driving it... I think it would because even in my Camaro it doesn't feel like you're going fast at all.

It's just me. I've tested the 0-60 time and I got the advertised 4.6 for an automatic. Haven't took it to the track yet, but I will this weekend and I'll see if it holds up to the 8.5's I've been seeing people get with 13.1 1/4 times.
