New Member Resume

I have been creeping around here for a few years and finally got around to signing up. The following is my automobile resume:

I started driving in 1977 and feel lucky to have left my pedestrian life at a time when really cool cars were a plenty and prices were low.

Below is a list of the notable rides that I have owned over the years:
  • My first car was a $300 1971 Mustang Mach 1... the biggest POS you had ever seen.
  • Next came a $700 1969 AMC Javelin. Reliable, not much in the power dept, but I bought it from a local kids show TV host so it had a story behind it.
  • I got the itch for a little top down action and ended up with a $1200 1969 Cougar convertible.
  • Enjoying my tan and feeling the need for speed, I entered the world of Dodge and bought and restored a $1400 1970 Coronet R/T convertible. This one was lost when my first child was born and money was tight. I still cry myself to sleep at night thinking about this one.
  • While restoring the Dodge in 1984, a 1982 Trans Am seemed like a good parts runner. I have to say, what this car lacked in power it more than made up for in the way it handled.
  • A few years after losing the Dodge money was no longer as tight and in an attempt to regain the lost glory of the R/T I scored a 1970 Challenger convertible 318. It was a very presentable driver. I was building a 440 for it but because of professional and family demands, the motor never married the car and when the pile of kids toys stacked on the car got high enough I decided that it was time to sell.
  • Finally having more money than time in 2004 and wanting to go fast, I purchased a 2003 Mustang Cobra convertible. Wow! what a rocket that thing was. Every time I drove it hard I would awake the next morning to a puddle under the rear differential. That got old after a few years and the cars was sold.
  • It is now 2010, I drove my first Gen 5 Camaro SS. I loved the way it drove but still had kids in school so wife demanded more rear seat. A 2010 Challenger R/T got the call.
  • Feeling the need for the wind blowing through my hair and sun baking my brain I decided that with the kids all off to college, it was time to do up a 2013 Camaro SS convertible. This is by far the best driving, most comfortable fun car that I have ever owned.

If you examine my list of past and present rides you will notice that over the years I have owned a pony car from every manufacturer with the exception of the Plymouth Barracuda. Unless I hit the lottery, I do not think I will get to complete the list. :(

I hope after reviewing my resume, I am deemed worthy of being a member of this group.

Party on Wayne & Garth

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
