The ZL1 A10 and the HC should be a wash on a dragstrip given the power/weight ratio. It's true there have been few ZL1's (6 gen) on the track to truly compare. I've seen the 2016 HC lay down a 6.78 1/8th mile @102mph. That's with dr's and a cold air intake along with a cat delete.

Hard to argue there. But I've been surprised before.

Based on what I saw with everyone finally testing out their line lock on the track, trying to figure out the button sequence and timing for release, I'm guessing it was just that lol.

So, given that, the M/E Vette (or the 'next Z/28') sounds a LOT more 'mythical' to me than the Demon.
You will be surprized at the Pricing the C8 will Not be priced like a Ford GT

I agree that it won't be priced as much as the GT. I was only saying that the GT is the target that GM is aiming at and that it is (actually) a $450K car.

I do think though that the highest performing version of the C8 (the next 'ZR1', etc?) will be well north of $150K to start with.

The Challenger is assembled in Brampton Ontario and contains 60% American/Canadian parts per the Window Sticker with 29% coming from Mexico.

At least that is what is on the Window Sticker of a 2017 Scat Pack I took a picture of.

There is still a stigma that exists regarding drag racing. The enemy of the sport of drag racing is street racing. Most of the public still confuses the two.

This Demon, however, is touting this bad boy street racer image to its customers....Not cool, IMO....The public, informed or not, will create some backlash, and insurance companies will probably take note as well...

Dodge is spending all the capital and good will that has been promoting drag racing as an alternative to street racing and re-blurring the difference between the two...in fact they basically are saying you will have to street race because you are banned (honorably in their eyes) from legal drag racing....

The time to pay the piper for these high hp cars may be nearing....My $.02...
