Not illusion. Not sure which stripes you want details on, but here's scoop on both:
Previous owner had custom '07 Camaro convertible concept stripes installed when new. Identical to Gen5 factory stripes, but extend past SS mailslot. Unfortunately, metallic 3M vinyl (or any metallic vinyl) is most vulnerable to elements. Clear laminate layer was already failing at approx 1.5yrs & 15K miles when I adopted her from dealership. Looked like black/grey stains, permanently etched with matte 1/4" -1/2" waterspots, and front corners were lifting. (See pics of vinyl failure in my albums.)

Current stripes: Custom Avery SW-900 metallic Bumble Bees, '07 Transformers style. Est 5-7yr lifespan if protected from elements. (Jerry at MoPro rocks!) Opted to take a risk & DIY install, so I could put all stripe upgrade budget $ into a slightly better quality vinyl. Thankfully, had no issues at all! ---My holy grail Camaro is a '68 396 SS RS, Ermine White w/LeMan's Blue Z28 stripes. My spouse is NOT a Camaro/Chevy fan, and was insisting I be more practical about replacing my 16yr old primary rig. So we compromised. I found a flawless loaded late model 2SSRS, and have been slowly creating my '68 Gen5 theme. The current BB stripes have the classic Z28 spacing I wanted. Also, love how the ultra fine metallic seems to shift the base stripe color to a dozen shades of blue in various light.

thank you so much! i appreciate all the info and the larger version of the avatar. that really helps. I'd actually like something just like those, but have them continue to the lip and disappear over the edge, rather than have a definitive ending point, so I think i may have to go custom, but these may be a better value if i can order them off the shelf much cheaper. again, thanks for the info!
