LOL you know it's true though if he is looking to bulk "naturally". Probably best thing he could do....

It's funny you bring up me putting something on a t-shirt.....

Last week I'm in the gym, training, about to go get on the dreadmill and I pass a probably 20 something year old with the Nike t-shirt on that says "Dues Paid". He was a tall, athletic looking guy, 6'2"ish....basketball or football player most likely at TTU. I went to the changing room to put my running shoes on and it just hit me.....

I came back out and motioned for him to take his head phones off. He did and I told him.....

"the best thing you could do with that t-shirt is draw a black circle with a line through it and underneath it write "still paying".

I need to email Nike.

Monique is sitting in 216th worldwide going into 17.5. Needs to make up 17 spots to qualify for regionals. She hopefully can do it. The workout is

10 Rounds for time

9 Thrusters (95lbs for me, 65lbs for women)
35 Double unders

Its going to come down to the DU's for Monique and how many slip ups she has.

It's funny you posted in the thread. I was going through my email the other day and saw from when we had corresponded and I was thinking you hadn't chimed in the thread in a long time.

Man that's awesome. Those in the thread....this is what it is all about. Putting in consistent work over time.

When is your next meet?

Well I wish I had better news to report.....all the scores are in. Monique finished 251st world wide so she did not qualify for the masters regionals.

Last event sunk her. She did the workout 3 times over 4 days. 1st time 15:01, 2nd time 16:34, and 3rd time easily her best at 13:19 which put her 674th in the event. It really stinks because the 90 thrusters only took her 3 mins. The rest of the time was double unders, but mostly misses and having start over combined with transition time. Really thought she was prepared to do this many double unders, tired, but guess not. The blessing is this weakness reared it's head and it will get addressed.

I'm very proud of her though. She beat her goal this year by 50% and is happy....but at the same time angry she didn't make the top 200.

I told her to use both of her emotions to fuel her training for next year. And she is going to start now. Past 3 years I've had her ramp up the CF training about 12 weeks out from the open. This year we will start now.

nothing planned. My last one was April of last year. I jumped a weight class from 145 to 163 so it wanted time to just focus on filling out. I also am enjoying doing many lift variations/bodybuilding work which has definitely helped, as well as made it more fun for me...probably going for my bench pr either today or tomorrow then deadlifting on the weekend

well dang it! I know she is super proud of her accomplishments, and at the same time...so pissed she could chew nails for not making the cut. Been there, but I also know that will fuel that fire for training.

One of my female trainee's squatted 275 lbs last night as we were finishing up. About 35 lbs more than her previous PR. As a trainer, you get that same rush and seeing the excitement on her face was enough. Her and her boyfriend will be in an April event. Him, he repped 500 lbs for 4 reps, twice last night for squats. He is doing okay.

Stt816 that is amazing man. We are very similar build wise and strength wise. Last year I was 146 but very cut (lots of cardio). Decided to bulk up and now I'm holding steady at 174 10.5% bf a little higher than I'd like it) but my strengths are way up. Yesterday I dead lifted 275 4x after doing 3 sets of 10 of 245. That extra 30 lbs makes a huge difference lol. Keep up the routine bro you are doing well.

That was a nice lift! Elbows stayed tucked and that gave you the ability to just keep grinding.

If you are using weighted dips to strengthen your bench, try to straighten those wrists up best you can and keep a more upright body position. I know it's harder on these large handled dip stands gyms have but it will put even more of the work on your triceps vs the forearms, biceps, front delts, chest.

It's a great bench builder and one I used for a long time. Just keep pecking away at it. A few more reps, add weight, cycle and go back through, consistently over time will for sure help you build a bigger bench.

You might even want to buy some fractional plates too (link for you below). Small pr's here and there over time add up big.

hey thanks i have fractional plates already (2" washers) each weighing .625lbs each thats how I got 281 on the bar. So when I compete it's closer to the kilogram. If you look in the video you can see the silver at the end of the bar. Definitely helpful
