GM confirms medium-duty truck for 2018 (Silverado 4500HD?).

Does Ford lump F-450 sales in with F-series?
Probably won't sell a lot of 4500s but hey, if Ford does it...

I think they do, as ridiculous as it may be to have every F-#50 grouped under the 'F-series' for sales, I'm pretty sure thats what happens.

Now of course, that just brings up another question ... how many companies place single orders for a variety of work trucks? I guess it makes sense if you are expanding operations, or lost your fleet in a disaster. But thats got to be a pretty small percentage of overall sales.

Fenwick, any word about when to expect a refresh of the Malibu? The wife hates the 16s and we will be looking in the near future to replace her Cruze with a more passenger friendly car. |

And if its multiple orders, is it say a single batch of F150s one month, F350s the next, and then 550s after that or are typically a mixed bag each time? I'm asking because the way I picture it, different trucks types aught to wear out at different rates. So if half tons need to be replaced every year, while class 5 trucks are good for 3 (I have no idea ... just throwing out some numbers), there isn't too much of a reason to keep them all the same brand. But I guess if a company is big enough (that construction company would seem to qualify), there will almost always be a need for a variety of trucks.

Looks like we are not getting the sedan, just the hatchback and wagon...which is fine with me. This is a strong possibility for my next daily driver...

Fenwick. I hadn't really considered the Regal as it's a bit out of the price range. Her commute is 100+ miles a day and the depreciation on a Buick would be just too much to absorb. |
