Yup, 4* on rivals. Already committed to Washington.

I know this is a football thread but speaking of kids of legends, Marcus Jordan will be playing on our bball team this year

How BORED do you have to be to follow HS recruiting?

There is a long list of NC winners who never even had a top 25 recruiting class. It means NOTHING............

Tebow

Percy Harvin

Taylor Mays

Eric Berry

Just a few top 10 recruits off the top of my head who ended up meaning ''nothing''...

Urban and Co. didn't get handed the fastest team in the country, just like Stoops didn't get handed Bradford.

btw OU is getting the #3 overall QB who looks like a Bradford clone. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recrui...30&season=2010

P.s. Where is that list? lol...

As a team. Not individual players. The Nebraskas, Oklahomas, Notre Dames of the past didn't allways have top ten classes, AS A TEAM.

Stoops NEVER has top ten recruiting classes. Players, maybe, but not CLASSES. (Years)

The TEAM is more about coaches and the system. The coaches get the impact players, then they have to put them in the right places and develop them.

2009 - OU #11

2008 - OU #8

2006 - OU #7

Bet if you go back and look at the last 20 NC winning teams you'll find half of them out of the top 10 in recruiting. I know OU wasn't in the top 20 when they won theirs.

At any rate it's BORING.

The recruiting process today is much different than it was before, it would be a pointless comparison.

But anyways, I don't think its boring at all. Its the NFL Draft for College football. Personally I think the NFL regular season is boring unless your watching someone exciting like Adrian Peterson (#1 overall RB in 2005)

The NFL draft is filled with players we ALL KNOW and have seen play. HS recruiting is nothing but paper work and bean counting.

The NFL draft is generally an athletic contest, but both recruit based on potential. For instance.

Matt Stafford / Jarmarcus Russel. Neither did ANYTHING in college. Neither has done anything in the NFL (ill give Mathew 2 years) both were the best NFL picks? riiiiiiiiiiight. They were picked because they could throw the ball the hardest. Id rather have Sanchez and his gimp noodle on my team.

HS recruiting is about players that people who follow recruiting know, and have watched play. They play on small time teams but you can tell who is going to dominate and who still has some developing to go. Just because you don't follow it, doesn't mean its not important and it doesn't mean people are just randomly recruiting players.

Example. Tim Tebow's HS Recruiting Tape.

Of course not. That's not what I'm saying. If it's your JOB and you ACTUALLY go watch these kids, I'm sure it's great. I love football so I'd LOVE that job. But what the hack do you know about anyone outside your state? What can I know about anyone outside MY state? What can a guy in Texas know about anyone in Florida? As far as keeping up with national recruiting, it's a bean counting borefest.
