The filming was done from an unacceptable angle according to the rules. That's the entire point. The PATS broke the rules. Nothing left to discuss. Your idiomatic expression " throw out the baby with the bathwater", doesn't apply when rules are involved. This is the thinking of a pathological liar. Because part of what was done was within the rules, he believes that merits as much credit as what was done to break the rule. But the fact is, the rule was broken. The statement was made that the other teams could film, they couldn't from the same angle the PATS did, or they would be in violation as well. It doesn't get any more logical then that. Simple common sense. If bending the rules as you see fit is acceptable, why have rules at all?

Joe, I was commenting on your oversimplistic baby fit of not haveing any rules at all. I've stated that the Patriots broke the rules and were punished. What do you suggest should be done, oh wise judgmental one?

So because the PATS were within the rules by filming, though outside by doing it from an improper angle, hence my reply. If bending the rules as you see fit is acceptable, why have rules at all? Your reply was to "not throw out the baby with the bath water". That doesn't apply at all. Because that still implies that the violation wasn't completely wrong, because they are allowed to film. That's like saying because a guy bought a gun legally, he wasn't totally wrong because he used it to rob a bank. Not passing judgement just stating fact. You didn't state anything in your post about the PATS breaking the rules. Rules were made to be followed. The NFL passed the proper judgement already.

It's not a literal phrase, just a figure of speech used to express the sentiment of not taking things too far. As in not haveing any rules at all, which would result in chaos, which there is too much of in today's society.

I'd have to disagree because the current PATS team was accused of Deflategate, which has been proven scientifically incorrect. Spygate was 10 years ago, so not really current. Funny how the seasons worked out. In 2007 (Spygate) the PATS lost the SB to the Giants. In 2017 the PATS win the SB after Brady is suspended for Deflategate. The time they broke the rules they lost, the time they didn't, but were penalized for doing so, they win.

Spygate was over multiple years.
and Brady gets suspended for something that happened in 2015. They didn't win.

the patriots balls were inflated to 12.5 as per usual. the colts balls at 13. Yet the pats balls lost more pressure than the colts. No tampering occurred there. Yeah, lets just keep our heads turned on that one! Like you said Joe, Rules are rules, and there is a rule on how much pressure should be in a football in the NFL
EDIT: the outcome of the game has no barring on them still trying to cheat. Again, if they didn't need to cheat, then why do it?

You can strive for those advantages, without breaking the rules.

It's all they got Kenny, Patriots have had the greatest dynasty in the football free agency area, nearly...soon to be reached, 50% of the Superbowl appearances in Tom Brady's playing career, unmatched and probably never will.
All the fans that aren't realistic will never give them the team credit deserved, and will never acknowledge Brady as Goat, it will always be tuck rule, spygate, deflate gate , system quarterback for them, you know....because that camera angle, that air pressure went on the field and made the plays. !! ![]() ![]() They're all whiny little bitches like all the snowflakes out in the street protesting every little thing that President Trump does and says, #snowflakes....and that is 100% fact

Deflategate was a ****ing joke. Why do you think Goodell was BOO'd during the Trophy Ceremony when he had to yet again hand over the Trophy to the New England Patriot's Superbowl MVP Tom Brady?
He was BOO'd because no one respects him after deflategate, it was proven to be a farce. The fact that I read the last 2 pages seeing that you guys were actually serious about thinking deflategate was a real thing makes me laugh. I legitimately do not like the Patriots, my dream scenario was the Cowboys beating Tom Brady in the super bowl ... it didn't happen in an embarrassing manner, but I respect Brady and the Patriot's without question. |

What your not understanding here is the reason the PATS balls were lower. The PATS balls were not kept covered during the first half, the Colts were. The balls were brought outside to a temperature of 48 degrees from a temperature inside of 71 degrees. The laws of physics have proven PSI loss to an inflated ball when exposed to cooler temps. The PATS balls were also wet. The dampness further reduces the PSI, as the leather is softer when wet, and will expand more then a dry ball. When the balls were brought in for testing at halftime, the PATS balls were measured first, all 12. they were inflated back to 12.5. The Colts only had 4 of their 12 measured, because the officials took much of the 13 minutes they had with the PATS balls. The laws of physics also prove that PSI will rise in them after 10 minutes of being in a 23 degree warmer temperature. The PATS balls would have increased as well had they been given the same amount of time, and were dry. Science proves the PATS balls were 0.004% lower then they should have been based upon beginning PSI, temperature change, and the water on the balls. Four one hundredths of 1 percent is evidence of tampering? The NFL should apologize to Brady for charging him guilty. What the actual game proved is NE's defensive coordinator did his job fantastically. He found every weakness in the Colts offense, and the PATS exploited it the entire game. The PATS offensive coordinator did likewise. Belichick had the team ready physically and mentally. A similar game this past season was played in the NFC championship game ATL vs GB. GB's defense had 3 key injuries that left a poor soul who runs a 4.7 and giving up 30 lbs., guarding Julio Jones. Ridiculously biased matchup. ATL exploited it the entire game. The offensive line of GB was also exploited with a weak side rush at Aaron Rodgers, they again didn't have the speed to stop the ATL rush from this side. The reason the PATS always have a playoff team is the way salaries are structured. Brady makes less then 1/2 of what other highly productive quarterbacks in the league do. They distribute the money more equally across the board then any other team in the NFL. This allows them to get better players at more positions. A team full of better then average players will more often then not be able to take advantage of another team who has an average player at his position. This team also can double team without weakening, if facing an opponent whose has a mis-match in their favor in a position. This is why the PATS won't let other teams beat them with their best player. While much focus in the media is put on Brady, Brady himself isn't the only reason the PATS are successful. The PATS are strong at all positions.
