Attention dog owners

I just wanted to throw a word of caution on a Kong rubber chew toy (designed to hold treats inside and occupy the dog for a few hours). I came home and noticed that my Dogo's bottom jaw was lodged inside of the Kong. It was not an easy task to remove as she was in pain and it felt that her jaw would be broken while trying. After researching, I found that there are NUMEROUS cases on the subject and some dogs had to be euthanized due to having their tongues cut off or other injuries. I decided to throw it in the trash and just warn others about the potential danger.

Could you post a pic or number for it? We have a few different Kong items.

Thanks for the heads up... My pal just shreds them into tiny pieces; his personal favorite is a large 'Wubba' kong toy he goes nuts for it; are you talking about the orange ball they sell?

With how much we spend on dog toys, I've considered designing my own... Something that will actually hold up to a medium/large breed chewing machine (have a husky that just shreds the heck outta anything he's given)... He's on his 4th wubba in 18 months, as soon as he gets a thread started it's game over by the next day

I believe the part number is M109412 and it's called 'Xtreme Kong'. There is another that uses a small orange ball as well.

She's fine now, but she was starting to 'give up' during the removal. It was obvious that her mouth was lodged for a few hours while I was at work...I could smell her insides, since she wasn't able to drink water at all. Thanks!!!
