And unless it gets over 450 lb ft it will definitely matter. The car is lacking a lot down low. I drive both multiple times a week, I pick up on all the differences believe me.

25 hp wont turn a 13.0 average (manual gt) into a 12.4 average (manual ss ) car...25 hp doesn't equal a half a second in the 1/4 mile.
It will matter to you, but not for performance. There is plenty of torque multiplication via gearing in the 5.0. It may not feel as torquey, but when you get into the meat of the powerband with the gearing, it is plenty sufficient. This is a perception issue...it's the same reason old big blocks were so fun. The coyote will always require you to rev it more to perform.

A 25hp bump will put the HP/Weight ratio of the GT right at the SS. The SS will likely still hold an advantage, but this is going to be much more of a drivers race.

This of course is pure speculation. Ford very well could give the GT a 35hp bump, or a 15hp bump.

So the catfish is now a sad catfish? Yikes.

Reminds me a lot of a Miata.

Id say a 30 hp bump and the ten speed will even things up auto to auto. DI will provide a good torque boost as well.

30 hp and the ten speed should cut off a good .5. And the difference currently stock to stock auto to auto is right around .5 all things equal.

Ford is behind this leapfrog game if they end up just matching acceleration. The corvette gets an immediate bump any time the mustang gets close. And it goes to the Camaro as we know.

The GT needs 475 hp to make a statement and to have a clear advantage in the 1/4.

Hope it does...we all win. But ill be keeping mine....probably lol

It would need the 30hp and 30tq with the 10 speed.

I bet they went for 460hp, but only managed 420-425tq. It will be a "drivers race" with a .1 to .2 going to the SS but they will claim having the most horsepower.

Just my prediction.

And ill have to say the 18 MY mustangs not that bad. I didn't think it was amazing in the first place. Will grow on people and look better with different colors etc.

I give it the same rating in looks as before. A weak 7.

Most of the ranting is from 15-17 owners justifying a purchase. Happens every time with new models/refreshes.

Another reason I can't stand Mustang owners. I've read it looks like a LFA, A BRZ, A Jaguar. I mean, which is it? They can't even make up their mind. But, at least thePill thinks this car is better than the Z06 so that is all that matters.

Wow those headlights look terrible. My coworker has a 2015 GT and I can't help but say "that's a pretty kick ass car."

This one looks similar but they have destroyed the best looking part of the car. The front end.

When I first saw pictures of the S550 before it came out in 2015, I reserved judgement until I saw one. When I saw one in person my reaction was "meh"...Didn't hate it or love it.

This 2018 "refresh", looks like a step backwards in the looks department. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person. I think my reaction will be the same, though.
