Those were taken by one of my friends Scott Germain. They were taken in Arizona. Race 74 was lost in August 2012 while practicing for an airshow. Race 57 is at Sanders Aeronautics in Ione, CA and is for sale.

I had the pleasure and sadness of attending the final USAF flights of the F-4 Phantom today at Holloman AFB. They flew a 4 ship, broke the sound barrier over our heads and did a bunch of passes. There were 6 ships left that could be piloted. They will all now be stripped of everything and towed out to White Sands to be used as ground targets.

The first pic is Jim "Wam" Harkins taxiing out for the final flight, and also his final flight in a fighter jet. He has over 1,000 hours in the Phantom. The 2nd pic is Ron "Elvis" King, the last to taxi in, and the last active USAF pilot to fly the F-4.
He made a remark at the retirement ceremony along the lines of, what other airplane would have so many people gather at a very hard to get to AFB, four days before Christmas!! There is no other one!!

And the last shot, just a head on of the magnificent beast, my favorite jet, hands down.

It's been a while since I flew one of the Crazy Horse 51s at Stallion51. I made a video from their onboard clips and my clips from a handheld. Kinda corny looking at it today. But it was still one of the most memorable bits of flying I ever did. My hundreds of hours in my Pitts made the flying do the Mustang more pleasurable.

Looks like a T-38 Talon from the front to mid-fuselage. Then a homebuilt dumpster fire on back.

I didn't read this entire thread but I am a WW2 plane enthusiast. Does anyone have a relative who was a member of a foreign airforce? My dad was in the British RAF an got me interested at a young age. He was crew in a Sunderland flying boat. The Germans nicknamed it the flying porcupine because it had a lot of gun turrets. None on the bottom hull though, that's their weak spot plus they were slow and a old design.

Spurshot thanks for sharing. Out of all Aircraft have flown in my life the P-51 was absolute favorite. My late Great Uncle owned a P51 It still flys today as Ain't Misbehavin' Someday hoping to get to see it again in person.

Tim Adams so you know Scotty? Small World! We have been CoWorkers for many a year. He was the one that researched all the info on the Relative's P-51 that I never knew was still around. I think if you go way back towards the beginning of this Thread, posted some of Scotty's Pics hagd you all.

Yes. I have been a member of his website for a few years. He used some of my stuff for one of his articles. We only actually see each other in Reno every year.
