Rescues that I have met at dog parks have all been friendly good looking dogs. I think there should be a new name, perhaps adopted coined as many people think a rescue is badly treated, ill or something of that nature and avoid even looking.

we had a couch, our previous dog died so we got a new one and a new dog. well our new rule stay off the couch lasted a week. anyway people are surprised Rocky is allowed in the car, but then I allow the odd people in there too.

That's the sad part. They become so much a part of your life it's devastating
when they pass. Our Murphy, we lost to cancer 8/1/13. I still tear up.

Why hasn't anyone commented about this!?!?! i just saw this and i think it's awesome. Great picture Jim! Amazing to have a trained bird like that. Could you talk a little about the hunting procedure? how old is he/she? how do you obtain an animal like that and keep it/take care of it?

This was my first experience with it and I'm not doing too well. Last weekend I lost it in kroger buying dog food. I have 5 other dogs and 3 cats (I'll post pics later) but there is an emptiness inside me that I think will always be there.

My ex wife and I 15 years ago were in Petland and she was there. We were in an apartment at the time but went back every weekend to see her for probably 2 months straight.

Then we stopped going for a few months and one day out of the blue I asked her if she wanted to go see if the coonhound was still there.

We went in and she was. There was a sign on her enclosure that said "free to a good home". Someone had bought her...let her drink out of a stagnant pond, and she got sick.....so the f'n returned her. I told my ex it was meant to be.

They always choose you....

Hey Jim, I got some pictures of the Falcon this morning when she landed on our squirrel solar light by the front porch. Am I right in calling her a Merlin. She is about the size of a Dove and does not have the side burns like a Peregrine Falcon, Prairie Falcon, or Kestrel. My field guide to Western Birds does not really show a Merlin with this much white on her breast and under her tail. Thought maybe you could help. If you can ZOOM-IN on the pictures, you can see her yellow eyes.
Curt

The body of the squirrel that she is sitting on is 10" from tip of the tail to top of the ears.

Ruby Too

This in my rescued rabbit, Ruby Too. I found her on the internet a couple years after I had my Camaro named Ruby & most friends on C5 had started calling me Ruby. The words above her pic on the adoption site said Hi, I'm Ruby, sweet girl. I knew she was supposed to be mine & she was not far from where I live. I adopted her & called her Ruby Too because her name was Ruby also.
