"Brand New" 2013 1LE owner in Central Ohio

Hey folks! New owner here of a 2013 2SS/RS 1LE in Orange Metallic!

Been on forums forever since before 2002, been lurking here for a few months now including pre-purchase.

I'm 38 and a huge racing fan, attending CART (IndyCar) and NHRA in person in in the early 80's hooked me good. : )

Big sportbike / sport touring bike guy too. Camping off the bikes over the years at AMA Superbike, MotoGP, Indycar, Vintage Car (F5000), Vintage Bike, Formula 1, Trans-Am, and a tiny bit of NASCAR... Mostly at IMS (Indianapolis) and Mid-Ohio SSC, but also been to Bristol, Martinsville, Daytona, The Glen...

Am also an A-class USPSA production shooter and pretty dern good 3-Gun competitor, too...

ANYWAY, about the car...

Purchased my 1LE 11/11/16 in Central PA from the original owner. He was the owner of a Chevy DEALERSHIP. He ordered this car from Chevy specifically to track it. Due to (in his words) him not taking the time to make time in his schedule to track it, it languished in his climate controlled garage with his other hot cars, accumulating a total of 290 miles in 3 years. It's never been driven in the rain, nor has it ever been rained on. It's immaculate. A 4 year old, new car...

I drove it home, nearly doubling it's mileage to 545. I did the NPP fuse pull on the third weekend and just installed the GM Performance Z/28 airbox last weekend. That's it so far. I think it has 780 miles now as it sits now, in _my_ climate controlled garage. : ) I've just ***** footed around so far, yet to delve into the bottomless bucket of torque...

Garage is 28x24, 2.75 car garage with new dedicated 2-ton ductless AC / Heat Pump. Not a true garagemahal by a long shot, but it is drywalled and insulated, sealed smooth concrete floors but a lot of staining, and the wall paint is peeling here and there. But I just added new Milwaukee roller boxes and a 30-gallon V-Twin belt drive air compressor hardwired to 220V, and plumbed in 3/4" medium thickness copper air lines all sweated, hose reel, couple hard ports, ball valves.

I do have an SLP CAGS skip shift eliminator to install and am in the process of researching low-pro long reach floor jack, jack stand, car dollies, etc. We have a drive on 4-post lift at work rated to 40,000lbs+, but the ramps are too steep to get even a Honda Accord on it, but I do use it to maintain my Honda Ridgeline.

So... HELLO GUYS! : )

Where in Ohio? Originally from Crestline with relatives in the area. Still get back 3-4 times a year.

Welcome!

I recognized your 1LE immediately because of the hockey stick decal!

I bought my 1LE from Cover Chevrolet (now Memorial Highway Chevrolet).

I know Jim, he is a true car guy.
When I was starting to look at purchasing a 1LE (winter 2013), my salesman, Jim's son, called Jim over for him to show me a pic of his IOM 1LE.

Check out my build thread, you can barely see him in pic #3 of post #2.

We've likely seen each other then, lol.

I zip around on a white Honda scooter at the track bouncing between the camping area, my favorite trackside viewing areas, vending, pits, etc. It's the only thing i use that scooter for, I promise!

225 acres and over 1.5 miles from my tent to my very favorite place to watch from. Not even a possibility to walk and see it all over the course of 3 or 4 days...

I'm usually wearing a boonie hat in desert camo. People have spotted me outside of the track and said hello, due to that white scooter and hat combo. Lol.

Too bad we don't have ALMS anymore, but Pirelli World Challenge has been awesome past few years.

Whoa! Nailed it!! Jim's the guy, and Windber PA is the place! Nice!

He put a fair amount of vinyl on this 1LE, and initially I was thinking of removing it, but it has grown on me! Plus it would be a disaster to damage the clear or the paint in removing any of it.

And being as I am a season ticket holder for the Columbus Blue Jackets since the inception of the franchise in 2000, and the fact that they are hot as damn firecracker right now, I guess the 'hockey stick' decals are stayin'... ; )

Thanks for chiming in, CDB!

I just finished backing up my phone to PC... : )

I actually have Canon DSLR's and lenses but haven't taken anything but phone pictures so far...

A lovely fall Saturday afternoon to the local pizza joint.

Love the background...

I prefer the '13 and before taillights over the later, so once I began my search, the only option was a '13 1LE...

First stop after returning to town upon purchase - stop at my parents. Killer late afternoon side light. Inferno is a well earned paint name in this case.

At the dealership, this is what greeted me in the truck. MY13 catalogs, car cover, 1LE PCV unopened, cloth floormats all unopened. Original unpainted engine cover. Jim had ordered a second engine cover, and had it painted to match the IOM body. Left the original cover - original.

Parking at the BMV for my out of state inspection. I think this is suitably far enough away... ; )

Last weekend after adding the Z/28 airbox!

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
