Semi retired from the shoe and leather biz. I bought leather for a major shoe manufacturer for 25 years and have been selling for the past 20.

We are South South East of Houma La. about 1:15 flight time on a S92... 6,000 plus feet of water... It's 50-55 minutes or so flight time before you see land on the way back in... and wow, the wind kind of picked up today... 40 knots... it's calmed a bit...

ccon, are you on the GT1, I spent time on the GTII in Benin Africa...

West Vela for me right now...

I am on the NDoT. 40 knots is a lot in the GOM, but before I came back to the GOM in August, I spent the previous year and half in Argentina. 40 knot winds down there were a common occurrence. Highest we had one night was 86 knots.

Nice, yeah 40 is a mild blow... Relative to the last couple days though it was different... I've worked in the South Atlantic, as far south as you can go in Brazilian waters... And 40 wasn't even note worthy... Like you said... Worst I ever saw was in the Med, sand storm, 11 meter seas, in 350 feet of water, wind and rain blowing uphill... We broke three tensioner wires in 12 hours... That was rough... I don't know that it hit 86 but it was howling...
