That fast? That's jail time..not just losing your license.

I did read the story! The kid's 19! and I looked him up on facebook lol... He's got a 5.0 with some kind of supercharger on it... didn't specify the kit. The kid's an idiot... you don't go to jail for 84... You go to jail for running, and for going 208.... The guy is in for some real hell coming up.

Damn you beat me to it! Haha. Damn mustang drivers. But in all seriousness after driving a GT on its base suspension/aero at around 90, im surprised this car didn't fall apart, feel like it was going to, or that he didn't lose control

Wikileaks just reported that he was really only going 90 but the news station thought that 208 sounded better.

I kid, I kid

Old street racing trick. I would have thought its so you can duck off on a back street and not be seen. Not for running away at a higher speed. Clearly not the brightest crayon in the box!

I really doubt that 208MPH top speed... not only do you need a metric shit-tonne of power and much better aero to even get a 2011 Mustang to those speeds, it would also have to get up there very quickly if he's doing it on a public road. No way he had enough empty road to keep accelerating from 150 to 208 for like 10 minutes. Besides all that, a live axle car (or any car really) would need some serious suspension work to keep everything planted at those speeds. There's a reason why superacars use extremely expensive suspension components, 16+ inch carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive aero and all the other wizardry... without that stuff a small bump or dip (at normal speeds) would just send the car flying at over 200MPH.

kid in mustang clocked doing 208mph

http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2016/11/...t-208-mph.html
some how i dont think this kid could get 208 on the street. what would you need 900hp suspension, bodywork, and several strait smooth miles to keep it on the road at that speed.

If he lawyers up he should have a case against that BS 208mph call. I just don't see it happening.

Totally agree ! He would need in the range of 1200hp+ with the aero on that car to get that kind of speed. Thinking the speed gun needs a tune

It was Canada. They probably meant 208 kph. Still fast, but doable.
