Wow that GS with the Z07 package is no joke.

Wonder if he used LC and no lift shift in the drag race.... Looks like wheel spin at launch. GS still loses, maybe a little better time.

I never understood why someone would choose this model over the Z51 (less money, same power) or Z06 (similar price, more power), so I appreciate them comparing all three trims.

Wonder how the 8 speed auto would have performed on the track.

Did you listen to their comments about the GS vs the Z06? Seems like the GS is a much more usable package.

I understand that the Z06 is a lot of car to handle around a track. But honestly, if driving a car fast were easy then everyone would do it.

The GS is a great compromise if you want the Z06 looks and handling but don't want or need 650hp. It'll be a great car for autocrossing, but I've got the feeling that not too many will see that type of use.

The GS is only $3K more than a Z51. I went to the Chevy website and build a 1LT Z51 exactly as I would buy it: Automatic, black wheels, red calipers, Magnetic ride, white with red interior--price was $66K. Then go build the GS the exact same way and it comes out to be $69K. To me, who wouldn't spend the extra $3K to have better handling and that wide body of the Z06? I'll be more shocked if the GS doesn't become the #1 selling Corvette.

Yeah I agree. If I were to buy C7, I would probably go with GS - cheaper and easier to track than Z06, and has better capability than base Stingray. And those sweet wide body....

But when the time comes to upgrade my toy, I would still like ZL1 over GS, I think. The only reason I may choose GS over ZL1 would be to get something totally different than my SS, and the "special feel" corvettes give.
