East Oakland Chop Shop Busted.......

A lot of my Bay Area Camaro owners who have had their cars stolen in the last few years this guy was probably behind it. Can't believe 300 Camaros stolen in 3 years out here. Hope this nerd rots away in his prison cell forever!

What a jerk. Imagine the poor guys who bought cars from him with stolen parts. Sorry sir you can keep the shell but the engine we are going to confiscate it is stolen. The nightmare this jerk created may continue on for a while.

makes sense a lot of guys here found their cars just a shell on the streets of Oakland. Dude was putting engines in other cars and selling them then putting them into his own personal cars. Glad they got this nerd off the streets.

They should take any of his liquid assets and ensure that all parties that were damaged by him are paid off. Then they should make an example of him by proceeding to publicly cane him. Let his screams be the warning for the next chop shop owner. Jail will not help him. It will only serve to strengthen his skills for when he is released. Once his caning is complete, he can crawl back to his home. I bet he won't commit another crime.

I wish this arrest would have had more publicity in the Bay Area. I didn't see coverage in the local news last night and this morning.

GM should hire this guy as a consultant for ON-Star.

Not one theft stopped or recovered by the ON-Star system. Maybe as part of his plea bargain, reduced sentence, and early probation he will reveal how the thefts were so successful so owners can do something to stop them on their own, as ON-Star is worthless.

This guy won't do much time. It's a "property" crime, no-one was killed. Jails and prisons are full of worse felons. He'll be back.

Did you see his mug shot? What liquid assets?

So jail will help him, but it won't help law abiding citizens.

Fortunately for him, one of the stolen Camaros wasn't mine.

Its pretty simple. They use a passenger thief to access and disable it while the driver thief gets it running. You can find out how disable it here on the forums. Sadly he is probably just the tip of the iceberg, the ones actually performing the act will find another stripper, and the saga will continue. The sheer volume of cars stolen is much too many for one person to pull off.

The failure of gonestar is GM did not bury it very deep in the car. The 6th gen will face the same fate. Already threads over there on how to disable it, and it looks easy to get to as well.

Yeah, as lucrative of a market as their seems to be, someone will fill the void left by the perp....He was only in on "some" of the actual thefts. Might be a breather for a while, but the thieves will eventually find another chop shop...
