My Favorite Muscle Car

My favorite Muscle Car was my '70 Chevelle SS 396 that I purchased new from DeNooyer Chevrolet in Battle Creek, Michigan. You talk about "changing times", it was $3,200 out the door.

Nice Chevelle. Nice pants too. Lol. Great times back then and 20 cents per gallon for 100 octane.

The '72 Z28 was mine, the '70 Chevelle SS 396 was my brothers. Camaro was a lot quicker.

Sweet car! I agree, the pants aren't bad either!

The 396 (402) BBC with oval port heads was 10.5 compression ratio and ran great on 100+ octane Gulf No-Knox. I could cruise all night on $5.00.

John Wayne drove a brewster green 73 TA in McQ. It really is British racing green that you see on many classic cars. Not for everyone but I like it so much I had Chris do a gen6 rendering in that color.

I had a 72 GTO that was dark Mettalic Green. So I've always had soft spot for darker green.

This thread needs decade breakdowns in my opinion. Hard to compare what is the best overall. What was the greatest in the 50's does not hold a candle to the 60's and so on. My '58 Chevy Belair with it's 348 Tripower was awesome! But it could not hold a candle to the '86 Dodge Conquest which could blow away most on the road back then. Now my V6 Camaro eats some of the awesome classic cars mentioned.
