Have you had any issues with your cutouts? My buddy wants to get them installed on his SRT8 jeep, but shops keep telling him they won't install them because they cause back pressure issues.

his shop people are idiots. And how does it or would it cause a "back pressure" issue. It's a freakin jeep, how long is the 'exhaust' anyway... 5 ft, as opposed to right out of the headers. Wait, is his Jeep from the 60's or 70's... then maybe. Have them "expand" on the "back pressure issue" comment to see how stupid they truly are. let's just not say they are stupid, let's measure the stupidity at the same time.

But it does sound like a great excuse for not wanting to do something. These are the type of people that won't get off the couch to find the remote control to change a channel, thus end up watching the same channel for days.

I may hit the track tonight. Still debating due to the heat index supposed to be around 100 today. The track would be in great shape since the US Nationals just left, so that is tempting me to go. It would be packed tonight due to the reason the track will be in top shape for some runs.

The shop that surprised me the most was RDPMotorsports, Steve told him they wouldn't install them because of the back pressure issue, and because they leak, when he went up to get his jeep tuned.

Then I have to wonder what type of cutouts was in question. Maybe he was looking at some that have a bad reputation. Also, what type of engine is in the SRT8 Jeep? If there are concerns with back pressure, then apparently he has to have "mufflers" on the Jeep at all times. Could never have straight or custom exhaust.

It's a 6.1L hemi, there are other guys out there who have cutouts on the same motor, funny thing is Steve had cut outs listed on his website, they sell cut outs, but won't install them apparently. Because my buddy was asking about the cut outs that Steve had online lol.
