Great to hear ... So far I did not drive a SS. I guess it's a good thing otherwise might be disappointed with the 3.6L. I guess gas will be cheaper because it only needs regular.

Great to hear that you had "a blast" with the V6. Hope that the need for speed does not gets me ... But I am already excited to get the new car in 2-3 months. Christmas is coming :-)

On another note, even though my old V6 ran on regular, it pulled some timing to do so. It got a bit more power and mileage out of high octane. It was very nice to have a choice though. I ran regular through the winter, or if the prices got too high. Low prices in the summer, and I used premium. I'm not sure but given the high compression of the new V6, I am guessing it will be the same. |

I have driven both engine configurations and I highly recommend going with the V6 with dual mode exhaust. Disclaimer: That's what I went with - H50, V6, NPP, Auto. It sounds great. As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, i get approximately 18 MPG right now, but I am driving a bit aggressively. Typically I would expect approximately 21 MPG in city driving

My custom order is now done. I guess there won't be any regret on my current configuration. I drove an Audi 4 1.8 for the last 12 years. Hope the commute to work will be more exciting with the 3.6L yellow convertible :-) We will see how long it takes to get the car built.

I still need to drive the V6 and compare it to my 2012 with the LFX. Just test drove the 2.0T at my local dealer last week and I wasn't that impressed. Exhaust sounded good and power seemed fine but the turbo lag is not something I'm used to. Plus the engine sounded like a typical 4 cylinder, louder than a V6 ("wheezier" if that makes sense)- not in the good way.
I understand the engine has its merits, but I'm saying I think the 3.6L V6 is probably better suited to me. I wouldn't want to go from a V6 Camaro to a 4 cyl, I think if I was upgrading to a 6th gen I'd want to stick with the V6 (the SS is amazing but too much for me!)

Let me know how your test ride with the 3.6L engine is. Of course would have loved driving an SS but the prize would have been close to get a Corvette ... I guess I will be alright with the smaller engine.
