NO WAY!!! One of our rabbits died yesterday too! It was very traumatic.
Not sure about your rabbit.. but ours definitely got excited to see us..My boys played with them often and they loved to watch tv with them on their laps.. My poor guy cried. I think I would have been more worried about him if he DIDN'T cry over a living animal that he raised from a baby, played with and fed and watered everyday. It's ok to cry you guys...

RIP Snowball..

I had a rabbit that died like that once, but it was because it got too hot outside for him.

My sister had a rabbit when we were growing up and it was mean as hell.

If you want a caged animal that is actually smart, try a rat. And yes I'm serious- they recognize you and will do tricks, etc.

Meh..... A dog actually WANTs to please you. A dog will actually WARN you of danger. AND will differentiate between kids and adults and play accordingly.

Sorry, I'm no rabbit expert owned one that was house broken for 7 yrs (old for rabbit). Sound like it had some kind of stroke or cerebral hemorrhage. Either way no way to predict that it was going to happen.

Not always true. Back when Jax was 9 weeks, he got a hold of my neighboors 4 month old child. This was all that was left of him by the time I got there...

At 6 months I took him for a jog. A very nice homeless man approached me and asked to pet my dog... This is all that was left of him by the time we got home...

Just a few months ago my ex g/f came over to say hey. He ate her soon as she stepped out of the car.

Sorry to hear about her rabbit, though. Don't get too upset about her reaction. She's a young girl. To a young girl a cute little bunny rabbit is the most fluffy, cute, precious thing, like, EVER, so to see it die was probably pretty hard on her. Besides, at that age, ALL girls are a bit dramatic. I wouldn't worry too much

Edit: BTW, those seizures you saw it going through were probably agonal contractions. It had most likely been "dead" for a while. Even after we die, the body still has electrical impulses flowing through it which cause agonal breathing and agonal contractions. It's the body's last hoorah to try to stay alive, even though the brain is already dead. There's no telling what actually caused the death.

Wish I could help further, but I can't. :(

Sorry to hear about your loss though.
