The Parking Brake is a lie.

Why is it there again? It seems to do nothing...fully up and if I engage the clutch on a hill it's non-existent...I'm rolling with it up. I've drove once with it up...only realized it was up when the car said something to me. This is in comparison to the Cobalt's parking brake which is a beast; I don't go anywhere when it's up.

The only parking brake so far in this car is the transmission. If you're going to make the parking brake the biggest brake in the history of cars, so big that it constantly annoys the passenger when I put it down before leaving, make it at least work.

I don't own the car yet but it sounds like a issue with the car, I'd take it back to the dealer.

Something is wrong, time for a dealer trip. If mine didn't work with my steep driveway and neighborhood hills my car would have been through a building or in a ditch by now! I am sure it needs a big adjustment!

I was taking my nephew for a ride in the car taking some curves pretty aggresive when I noticed, all he had to hang on to was that HUGE BRAKE HANDLE.

If he had pulled that I would have to buy a new car. YIKES

This is how the one in my 4th gen has always behaved...It also works better to stop the car from rolling backward than it does from rolling forward.

Mine works fine. I even put mine in 1st and let out on the clutch while having the ebrake engaged. It worked fine. Even stopping with my ebrake works fine.

But that can't be. The brake is a lie.

ine is working very good! Put mine in first with the brake on.... stepped on the gas and went nowhere! Sounds to me that yours is in need of adjustment so make that trip to the dealer and "Git-R-Dun"!
