Nissan Rogue vs Murano

So me and my soon to be wife were considering starting a family soon and want a nice midsize SUV.

Not expecting anytime soon... BUT... we like to plan ahead.

So here begs the question, Rogue vs Murano ?

Rogue is the 2.5 V4 with better mpg and the Murano has the nice 3.5 V6 Nissan is known for.

Interior they're about the same, the Rogue however fully loaded is still cheaper than the base Murano and offers a tiny 3rd backrow (we wont need a 3rd backrow for 2 kids).

Reason I'm going Nissan is because Worldcar Nissan here in San Antonio, TX offers a lifetime warranty on all their newer vehicles. I'll be buying brand new.

Any thoughts, recommendations?

Check Worldcar Nissan as you suggested, their selling point is the lifetime warranty. I rather deal with Ancira, but that's personal preference. I went to Worldcar and left in a hurry...

As far as both models, the Murano hands down, the new Rogue is pretty nice, but the addition of the V6 on the Murano beats the Rogue.

Why did ya run away from Worldcar?

I probably wont need to worry about this for a good year or so, but still I'd like to have everything 100% planned out.

One of the dealers where I bought my suv was offering 100k mile powertrain warranty. The only dealer in vegas that did out of 3. One year later they got bought out by a different conpany and now my 100k warranty is not valid because of different ownership.

I wouldn't put much faith in those dealer "lifetime" warranties. Usually loaded with fine print, and you'll have to have them do ALL the maintenance on the car.

As for those two vehicles, I'm not a fan of either but I can tell you Murano will be a much nicer ride. The Rogue is an economy vehicle for sure and rides like one. Personally in the segment I think the Escape, Rav4, and Equinox(v6) are better. Also I'd highly recommend the new Subaru Outback. (I work in service at a makor dealership and see a little bit of everything)

Both cars seem nice. I always thought the murano was way above the rogue, but my mother just bought a rogue and loves it. Interior for and finish seems great for the price

it seemed like a scam, also they wanted to low ball me on the trade, where Carmax would had bought the car outright for 12,500, they wanted to give me 11,000, and then started playing and adjusting price and trade in an intent of making me think that they were giving me a better deal.

I hate places like that, I am not a fan of Carmax, but at least I know that they will give me one price, and that the car they are selling is within a reasonable price, and not inflated or with a lot of work done hidden to make it sell faster. In a new car, there is so much you can adjust the price, and when I could get the same car they were offering me from Ancira, 1000 cheaper, and at 0% for 72 months you know they are ripping you off.

My mother-in-law had a Murano for a couple of years. Non-stop electrical issues, and seemed like poor build quality.

She recently ditched it for an Acura RDX and likes it a lot more.

I wouldn't get a Nissan, much more problematic than Honda or Toyota, mainly the latter. They just ride on the whole "Japanese cars are good" but it's not true for Mitsubishi, and only sometimes true with Nissan.
