Randy Pobst ran 1:57.87 on Chuckwalla with the GT350R. He ran 1:59.03 with the Z/28, and 2:00.82 with the GT350.

1LE is clearly being poised to take the Gen 5 Z/28's place, to be a bargain GT350/350R and undercut it. Their benchmark must have been either the Z/28 and/or the GT350. Im on Memphis' side with the "within 2 seconds" bit. Heck, it could be closer even.

When you think about it, the 6th gen SS runs right with the 5th gen 1LE and was their benchmark. Makes sense to me the 6th gen 1LE benchmark was the Z/28. This is going to be interesting indeed.
