Where do you get an 80% frame for a 1911? I'm very intrigued.

I got it from Tactical Machining. They don't stay in stock long.

You can also get a pistol brace and hold it against your cheek. I've also heard of a technicality, if you place the brace against your chest, it's not considered shouldering it.

Personally I feel it's a fad. They tried the same thing with the M1 carbine, more or less, the Enforcer carbine. It was a pistol in essence. Kind of a useless pistol.

Not a fad for those who physically can't shoot rifles though.

I've been wanting a PLR-16. As cheapish Kel Tec... it would do fine for it's intended purpose.

![]() https://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/abo...20MR-Final.pdf As per SIG SAUER: EXETER, N.H. ( April 30, 2013 ) —SIG SAUER ® introduces the SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace, a shooter’s aid that is designed to improve the single-handed shooting performance of buffer tube equipped pistols. This veteran -designed and U.S. -manufactured accessory enhances accuracy and reduces felt recoil when using an AR-style pistol. The concept for the Pistol Stabilizing Brace was born from a trip to the range with a disabled veteran, who found it challenging to use an AR pistol one-handed. As the designer, an Army veteran himself, tested various designs, he found that the SB15 enhanced the accuracy and control for all shooters, regardless of physical ability.

That's all well and good. I don't understand why "disabled combat veteran" is a requirement though; what we have here is a disabled veteran who had a problem shooting an AR pistol one handed. The ability to do it is not my question. The question is why is the AR pistol concept advantageous for a disabled person, not how a disabled person might shoot an AR pistol.

Weight. Have you ever tried to single hand fire an AR-15 accurately?
