It was great. I've never had an actual rescue, But picked up a few guys that looked like they were real happy to see us...

But there was an awful lot of time flying in the arabian gulf in a wet suit in 140+ degrees and hating life...

A10 cannon fire is unlike anything else I've heard (not that I've heard them all by any means). I love gunsight film when they fire, the entire cockpit shakes lol.

Only aircraft to literally be built around a gun (at least that's what they used to say).

That cannon is a beast. It shook our helo when they went under us... we thought they accidentially shot us...

The A-10 pilot was so cool on the radio.... after evaporating the target he was all "611 LZ clear, we'll get out of your way..."

Back in the mid 80's there was a big bruhaha over the Audi 5000 and lawsuits against Audi...people were saying it would accelerate unintended ...and that it would jump out of gear when in park..causing people to run over folks into homes.cars etc...the car would just jet.....in reality the brake and gas pedal were so close together that some peoples foot would slip off the brake pedal and hit the gas and then of course the car would go...So people started saying "i'm out like an Audi 5000" meaning they are leaving suddenly and quickly without warning....then shortened to "Audi 5000" or just "audi" or just "5000"..just to say goodbye

We were just at Seaworld last weekend and at the Shamu show they had all the military families stand up and get basically a reverse standing ovation. Very cool
