I'll tell ya what's odd....I went and researched the interior room using manufacturer's brochures and if you believe them, the 2016 Camaro has more front leg room than both the 2015 Camaro and my Challenger (43.9" vs 42.4" & 42" respectively). That's hard to believe. Front headroom however is a different story. The Challenger is listed at 39.3" compared to 38.5" for the Gen 6 Camaro (which is still a bit more than the Gen 5 at 42.4"). Chevy doesn't list front hip room, though Dodge does, so I can't compare those numbers. They both do list front shoulder room (at least for the Gen 5, no spec for the Gen 6). The Gen 5 is 56.9" vs the Challenger's 58.2". If the Gen 6 is has less than the Gen 5, that is a tight squeeze indeed. Chevy didn't list rear seat specs for the Gen 6, but the Gen 5 was a fair bit smaller than the Challenger as you'd expect.

All in all, it's going to take sitting in, to really know what it feels like. And I'm only the secondary user so it's not that big of a deal. My wife is pretty small so either gen will fit her just fine.

A functional back seat (and trunk) was a big part of my decision to get the Challenger when I was deciding between the big 3. All my wife knows is that she wants a Camaro regardless of practicality. I tend to think of function, first. If the Grand Cherokee dies, it will be fun to watch her go grocery shopping for 4 people. Won't be using my car, I can tell ya that!
