I think the little article is wrong though as they mention it has an option of the automatic, GM's 8-speed. Didn't we get confirmation that the auto would be a 10 sp? Oh well, they are magazine writers more than enthusiasts apparently.

Yes, the 10-speed is confirmed. No, it wasn't that they're not enthusiasts. The issue is that they have to write print stories many weeks ahead of time. That's just how magazines work. A lot of the stuff we know now about the ZL1 was unveiled way after that article was written. That's why the picture doesn't show the flowtie, etc.

You have to realize that magazines typically have around a 3-month lead time. Considering the long lead time between an article being written and it being published, it's not that unusual to see small mistakes/errors.

Gotcha, but I would think they would make an assumption of the 8sp auto instead of a declaration of a fact.

How about the different wheels from cover to article. They couldn't even use the same photo shop.
